How long will it take if shipped by train to CA?
I just found out this morning my car was put on a train. Has anyone here had there car shipped by train to California? I am curious as to how long it will take.

The question has been asked and answered MANY times. SEARCH is your friend
Cliff notes: could take anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks before you'll be able to pick it up at your dealer.

Looking at my notes, mine departed Toledo, OH at 8:52pm on Feb 25th and arrived in Milpitas, CA (SF Bay Area) at 8:16pm on March 2nd.
Sat in the rail yard in Milpitas waiting to be unloaded and put on a truck until the morning of the 5th when it was delivered to the dealer, about 21 miles away. I picked it up the next day.
So, it took just over 1 week once the car was actually on a train and moving. Sometimes they sit at the origin rail yard for awhile waiting for a rail car.

Or:
Your experience was ruled by Murphy's law. You had bad weather, a train failure and who knows what else!
