Picked mine up Sunday. They left DMV up to me, and gave me a NH temp tag good for 20 days. That means avoiding the tax man for another month, so I appreciate them for it.

Traded my 2007 for a 2012 GS over the telephone. Tommy had the 2007 picked up at my house and delivered to his dealership. When he got the car and saw it was exactly the way I described it, he shipped my Grand Sport. Gotta remember this was all done over the phone. Paperwork was all done by overnight mail.

The GS was brand new so I really didn't expect any problems. Car was exactly as promised. No extra charges and no BS. A real gentleman and a straight shooter.

You are in the hands of one of the best Corvette dealers on the Forum. No worries.

For J18369. I placed my order this week with Ron at MacMulkin and fees were never mentioned at all. This is the last email I got from Tommy Jr. before I placed my order.

We don't have fees. You just pay the difference of the price of the car, less trade plus the tax and reg you pay to NY.

Let's get this done!!! Place your order this week.

My purchase w/ Tommy Jr @ Mac Mulkin was seamless...couldn't have gone better! My easiest car purchase ever. Car was picked up by Intercity and delivered even before I expected it.

Now the bad news. My car came with EXTENSIVE orange peel from the factory...never should have passed quality control. If I had inspected this car beforehand, I would have NEVER bought it. This is the chance you take, so be aware. Now I am wrestling w/ GM to take care of the problem and have not had much success. I'm sure that Tommy Jr would take care of the problem (if I were closer) but I live almost 2000 mi away. I am truly disappointed that I have not had much support from MacMulkin on this. I am probably going to end up having the car wet sanded at my expense. I have nothing but good things to say about the dealership but the lesson to be learned here is that if you purchase sight unseen or order without the right to cancel after inspection, you do so at your own peril...

MacMulkin is located in a no sales tax state. Do MacMulkin customers that are residents of a sales tax state get charged the sales tax by MacMulkin? Interested in this part of the transaction and how it is handled.

MacMulkin will not collect sales tax. However, you need to check and see if your courtesy deliver dealer will. I was setting up a courtesy delivery in California and found out the dealer legally can not release the vehicle without collecting Cali tax. Some states will let you take care of it on your own, but some, like Cali, we "relieve you of that trouble". Thing is, I'm a Florida resident, and thats about $2000 difference in taxes... I'm gonna have to pass on that.

I picked up my C7 from Tommy on 9/27/13, first one he delivered, no issues at all. I live in NY and paid my tax when I registered the C7 2 weeks after I picked it up.

Purchased from MacMulkin end of March, after my dealer in NJ couldn't come thru. Car was in stock. It took exactly 7 days from first phone call to car delivered to my house. I dealt with Mark. No problems, good dealership.
They had all the necessary MV docs ready for me.

Picked mine up today from a Nor-Cal "delivery" dealer without paying taxes. I have an appointment at local DMV next week where I will register the vehicle and pay taxes. Hope it goes smooth!

Keep us posted, did you have to pay the $80 doc fee?

Great thread and quite timely, one of my friends ordered & purchased through MacMulkins, then shipped here to Hawaii. He relayed his VERY positive experience to me so I'm about to buy as well. One quick question after reading a few post here... Is 6 weeks the current norm from time of order to delivery? I spoke at length today with Karl (spoke earlier in the week with Tommy), both were great to deal with, and I believe there was mention of 6-8 weeks as well. I'm guessing their allotments/orders hold a bit more "clout" based on the numbers they sell... Is this reasonably accurate?

Thanks again, still sorting the C6 vs. C7, if the delivery time is just a couple/three months that certainly gives the edge back to the 2014 Z51 C7

Ditto on keeping us posted I've heard varying accounts on the registering process.

I don't understand why the delivering dealer did give you the temporary registration and collect fees and taxes. Mine did when I did courtesy delivery when I got my 2000. No visit to the DMV necessary.

Michael
