Love my 1st 'Vette
I own a C7, and joined this website forum to seek help and advice, read useful information that will contribute to the enjoyment of my car, and in time, share information based on my experiences that might help others.
However, I have been absolutely disgusted with the plethora of juvenile members here who do nothing to add value to the community and who seemingly enjoy slamming other people.
I know that most Corvette owners must be good people, but the sheer volume of negative or immature posts on this forum is not representative of that population.
I really wish there were moderators who would kick the "usual suspects" out of the forums- we all know who they are- and unfortunately they often seem to have the most posts, and the most gold stars next to their avatars.
Love my C7, and wish I could interact more with the good guys here, and somehow block all posts by the jerks. Wouldn't it be great if we never had to see another post by INSERT NAME HERE?
Godspeed,
CATTMAN

Use ignore function and enjoy the absence of some contentious members as you move about the forum.
And welcome!

Well, to get "kicked out of the forum" requires progressive discipline for rules violations. Posting negative comments about the C7, or being a troll are not rules violations. There are rules against name calling, online conflict and others. If you see a post in violation of the rules, use the report post icon. The moderators will get notified. There are over 357,000 members, over 3,000,000 threads and over 45,000,000 posts. The moderators can't possibly read every thread, much less every post. Moderators rely on members to report violations, but you must understand the rules to be able to accurately report violations.
You can find all of the rules here: Forum Guidelines and Rules. By the way, one of the rules is Complaints, Suggestions & Questions which states:
Also, you can block all posts by any member you want. Just add them to your Ignore List.

If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum, questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.
That would include, but is not limited to discussions about who has been banned and why.
The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.

OP - just add the folks you don't want to read to your ignore list.
There are some really good vette enthusiasts on the site, so don't give up yet. This place can get interesting from time to time. It also can be a library of info when you have a problem or need help. There are some very knowledgeable members.

I have always heard about the abundance of jerks here on the forum...so I stayed away for a long time but finally joined up. I have so far not had a problem on the places I hang out here. If I do I will use rapier wit to tell them to shut the hell up dumb asses....

Thanks, guys.
I clicked the ignore link, and when I clicked my curser in the box, it self-populated with the name of the guy I was about to type- obviously he's been selected as an "ignore" many times. Moderators ought to consider the number of times a member has been identified for ignoring as grounds enough.

From my experience, the friendliest forums seem the be the 4x4 Jeep and FJ Cruiser forums. Maybe there is not as much ego with people who love getting their cars dirty.
My life here has been much better after using the "Ignore" feature. I not only use it for people attacking me, but for those I see attacking other people. It's much nicer now, and if everyone ignores these bullies, they will be pretty much shut down.
Also the auto-populate feature on the Ignore functions works with Search, too, so is independent on the number of people who ignored him/her.
Congrats on the new C7!
Michael
P.S. I just added another one to my ignore list tonight, after he said another guy had a 2nd grade education.

(I just had to do it!!!)
Just kidding buddy. Don't let the haters get to ya. Enjoy the C7 for what you got it for. Although I don't have a C7, I don't bash it or any other year. I had a C4, C5, and now a C6. If things keep going the way they have, I will eventually be there with ya.
Regardless of generation, Corvettes are a brotherhood.
Congrats, and enjoy your new Stingray.
Save the wave!!

Well its simply because the trolls have the computer screen to protect them. They can say what they want because they have no reason to worry that they will get beat up lol. But no matter what forum you join there are always trolls. Its just like no matter where you work theres always that one ******* that nobody can stand and is the troll of the group, in my case he looks like papa smurf

I must say that I find very new members (OP has been a member here 6 months) who feel the need to post about what a horrible place it is and how it needs to change to be a bit egotistical. If you don't like the way the forum has been run for years I'd suggest that you find another forum instead of ranting about how this one needs to change to suit your tastes.

I don't have anyone on ignore. Some of the trolls provide entertainment, in measured doses at least, sort of like watching "dumbest stuff on wheels", except its "dumbest stuff on the Internet"

THIS is a Good thread. I didn't know about the "Ignore List" until now. I just used it. This Forum will be even more enjoyable now.

I used to feel that way, but I actually think it has become just as bad as other forums here recently. I've put more people on "Ignore" this year than I have the entire time I've been on this forum....and that's been over 10 years now.
