An online petition that will be submitted to GM regarding Corvette paint issues

Just for the record my clear coat is flawless - pretty happy about that hearing some of the problems others are having.
Thats coming from someone who has wet sanded and buffed 100's of cars in my earlier days

Maybe so.....
But it is still a complete waste of time. An online petition is not going to spur GM into doing a damn thing about the paint quality. A battery of lawyers probably couldn't get them to. I live in reality and a petition to GM has about as much chance of the desired effect as a petition demanding the resignation of....oh wait, I won't get political.....
As for my comments about the petition itself, I'll just say that ANY petition that would have ANY chance of getting any manufacturer's attention would have to be quite a bit more sophisticated than the one I read. Seriously......

The only way ever GM would "listen" is if Corvette sales decreased, or where substantially affected, by the paint issue. And, that ain't gonna happen. The C7 is too great of a Car. People will continue to order. Maybe with their fingers crossed. I was waiting a few MYs before I bought, anyway.

If enough people refused delivery over paint issues, then GM might be inclined to listen.

They don't have a room per-say...The car moves slowly under a bazillion florescent lights at all angles and they have a person who mans that station looking for defects as the car moves under and to the next station...

Shouldnt GM hire someone who doesnt need a white cane to do this?

This is such a non-starter for so many reasons.
1. GM is selling almost every C7 that rolls out of the factory.
2. The people buying this car are not discerning enough about paint quality.
3. Nobody is refusing to take delivery of a car with lousy paint.
Until these items change why would GM even bother to look at a petition.

Know why this will go nowhere?
Because if they DO acknowledge the problem, they're going to have a s***load of cars they're going to be liable to repaint....Nice thought but it ain't gonna happen.....
By the way.. after reading the actual petition, are you ****ing kidding me? Looks like it was written by a 5 year old......
Laughable.......

Signed!
Maybe this online petition won't do any good...maybe. But the time it took me to fill out the few items within the petition was nothing compared to having to rummage through the negativity throughout this post by those who have nothing to contribute. If you disagree with a certain post's subject matter, you are more than welcome to do so, but please spare the rest of us that may have a vested interest in the outcome.
The C7 is a great car, and yes they are selling every one of them faster than they can make them. But it is flawed...even if all examples are not. GM, or any company for that matter, would be foolish to ignore a concern from 100 of their customers. It is an opportunity to improve their product...one that Bowling Green is very, very proud of.
Jag, thank you for starting this petition!

2015 C7 of the Year Finalist
I signed the petition, maybe Gm will read this and make an effort to get the paint quality better on the 2015 C7, since I'm contemplating a Z06.
My C7 paint has some orange peel, not bad. My C6 paint was perfect,I bought it from GM it was one their corporate cars. I had emailed a forum member who worked at the plant and he said the corporate vettes are pulled off the line and sanded to remove all paint defects. They should do this with all vettes but it's not cost effective.
