I use Aerospace Protectant 303 on all the rubber on my 06Z06. It makes the tires look clean and new without washing off or slinging.

I have yet to see any of the "tire shine" products that won't sling off the tires. Scrubbing them down good when you wash it should be all they need.

If you must "dress" the tires I think 303 is a good option or any treatment that isn't leaving a "shine". Poorboys Natural Look dressing is a great all purpose, water based dressing if you absolutely must put something on them.

Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss works good and leaves a like new matte black if you wipe it off. No sling and doesn't have that '85 gloss look unless you want it.

Never use Armor-all. Use Griot's garage long lasting tire dressing. Doesn't shine but looks great. Always use on my '67 Porsche

There are a lot of good products that don't sling. The only thing I look for is that it is water based. The older or really shiny stuff has hexane and other nasties in it that eventually break down the rubber. Granted, most of us will not have a given set of tires on long enough for the dressing to do damage but I still stick to the water based stuff. My preference is Ammo Mud but there is other good stuff out there too.

I have been using AmorAll Extreme Tire Shine. Looks fantastic on my CyberGrey with chrome wheels. Used it for 5 and 1/2 years on my Black C6 coupe. However, to avoid any "sling" problem, I always applied the shine to my Corvette's wheels, and, then let her sit over nite until driving her. That allows the shine to dry nicely, and, prevents any "sling" issues.

No it isn't.

I want even alive in 1985 and I think tire shine makes cars look nice.

I've shined my C7 tires twice now and really makes it look that much nicer.

I like Zaino Z-16. I'm not into the blingy and greasy look... I just want a nice, black, matte look which you cannot really get from cleaning alone.

I use them too.....just wipe down so they don't sling.....Meg's hot shine gets it done with a MF wipe, nice matte look.

I also use the Zaino tire treatment and the reason I do is because it doesn't sling all over.

I use Adams VRT - water based and works great on vinyl, rubber and tires (hence the name)

Adams VRT just makes them look black. Perfect for that and any rubber trim. Putting VRT on rubber or plastic trim prior to waxing makes it easy to remove any marks you accidentally get on the trim.

Good stuff. I use it on all my rubber and vinyl. Doesn't attract dust.

Another Adam's VRT user here. No mess, no sling, no high gloss shine, ...and no slippery garage floor. Just looks nice and clean.

IMHO (which is about as unimportant as everyone else's), tire dressing has DB written all over it. I go to a lot of car shows and never see high end exotics with a shiny tire dressing. If you're going to slather it on your tires, why stop there? Get the dash and door panels as well. Hell, do the seats while you're at it.

Personally, I don't put anything on mine. But, if I was going to do anything it would be just enough to darken them up.

Back in the day (Early 1970's) before the market existed we used Pledge. After a while your tires had a beautiful brown sheen. I use nothing today - just keep the tire clean.
