Is there some Z51 and LT level snobbery?
A month or two ago someone got a Z51 and complained there weren't any badges on it to let other people know that his C7 was more special than other C7s, there are also threads where people seem to think that a 3LT is better than a 1LT and vice versa.
There are many reasons why I got a Z51 3LT but I sure as heck do not consider my car better than a non Z51, and the fact is that for some people a base 1LT is a better choice. I have no intent to race my car on a track but someday it ability to handle better may save my butt by helping me avoid an accident. I love the extra features that the 3LT came with, and I understand why someone my consider those extras unnecessary garbage, but the nice thing about the C7 is that it allows us to buy the options we want.
Some of these threads sound like a pecker measuring contest. We are all fortunate that GM has designed the best Corvette yet and it does not matter to me what number comes before the LT because they are all beautiful

For me this is my 4th Corvette. I knew when it came out I wanted one and would have one, I went back and forth from Z51 to non-Z51, I liked the wheels better on the Z51, didn't like the extra oil, warning in regards to tires driven in cold weather. Not to mention I will never track the car, But the value of a Z51 was hard to beat.
Then came the price increase, and within two days I found my Base 7 Speed, with NPP and a 3LT option package on a dealers lot about 3 hours away. Made the deal over the phone, pre-price increase and 3K off.
I couldn't be happier, The car is awesome and one of the best corvettes I have ever driven.
Some people bought 2LT without discounts, Some people bought 1LT Z51 without discounts, some people bought 3LT with discounts.
Who cares we are all in one of the best corvettes ever made. I love mine and have no regrets.
BTW mine is a 3LT with Black interior. LOL

As someone new to the C7 section because I'm doing my research before negotiations with the dealer commence later this week, I have seen a lot of that kind of snobbery already. There's a new thread just started about the "delivery experience" where the person says they will soon take delivery of their new Z51. Not a C7, Corvette, Coupe, Vert, or StingRay, but Z51 like it's a model of car.
I'm looking at a vert with 3LT but not Z51 because, unlike my C6 coupe, I'll never track it so no reason to spend more money on the Z51 option, but the wife really likes the 3LT interior, and a happy wife makes a happy home.

All I know is in the C6 forum if you called your C6 Z51 a 'Z51' you would get pounced on, lord help you if you put Z51 emblemd on it. Then there was a group who trolled constantly that claimed the C5 was a much better car in every way (sound familiar), then when the Grand Sport came out the C6 Z06 guys got mad and were all over the 'poser' Grand Sort. Then the base C6 guys jumped on the Grand Sport guyssince the base couple was lighter, more aerodynamic etc.
So you really cant win on car forums, people spend a lot of money and are passionate about cars so of course whatever they have is the 'best.' I'm on a lot of car forums and its pretty much all the same. Except a lot of people worry about trade in and resale value here more that most 'hobby' cars. I drive a Vette because I like to drive it, the C7 is a nice car overall, its gong to depreciate and I cant control that.

It's funny...if you look at most of these threads, they were started by people who have been CF members for less than a year.
It's simple immaturity and I ignore them immediately.
The community is a strong pull toward owning a Corvette and it is the reason I am on my third. I don't have time for the "mine is bigger than yours" clowns.
Also, remember there were 6 generations of Corvettes before this one, each better than the last. In a few years, ours will be old news with the introduction of superior cars in the future generations. I have nothing but respect for all generations and their owners. Hopefully the owners of every generation, model, option package, and cost will respect his fellow owners.
