Default Where are the 18/19" aftermarket wheels?

Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen any aftermarket 18/19" wheels for the base C7 tires. There are 19/20" for sale here that fit the Z51 tires, but I'm surprised no 18/19", since lots of folks don't like the stock 18/19", and most folks like the stock 19/20" ones. My guess is the wheel manufactures think Z51 owners are more likely to upgrade, but from what I read here, seems like there might be an even bigger market to replace the stock wheels.

I think it is because when people upgrade... whether on a base car or Z51... they WANT to have 19/20" wheels because many people find the slightly larger wheel with lower profile tires looks better. That person upgrades wheels and tires at the same time. For me, it isn't the design of the base wheel that I don't like it is that they are smaller and, for me, the C7 really benefits from a 19/20" combo regardless of wheel face design.

You could probably go with a custom wheel manufacturer and get 18/19" wheels done if you really wanted them I have seen, in the vendor section, 18/19 2 piece wheels too.

I think it has nothing to do with the tire size as much as the time factor for aftermarket folks to get new designs that'll fit the C7 brakes.

TSW/Cray have 5 styles available in the 18/19 combo. I'm sure others will follow in short order.

Yea, you're probably right. Personally, I think rubber bands for tires look a bit silly, even ghetto, but some high end luxury car owners buy into this even though their cars will never see a track. My C7 will be a DD, and the stock wheels and tires do a nice job of filling up the wheel wells while providing plenty of grip for the twisties and a more comfortable ride. Just being realistic.

Hello,

Any of Forgelines wheels are available in 18/19 for a forged application.

www.forgeline.com

Just let us know what you need. Many of the other manufacturers only have limited styles available in those sizes. They were not popular on the C6 and judging from the sales on the C7 the 19/20 is at least 30-1 so that is probably why.

Have a Great Weekend All!!!

These look pretty good. I know aftermarket wheels can be pricey, but what price range can I expect to pay for a set of decent wheels?

TSw isnt bad, I seen some in person on a C7 and they stick out too far for my tastes though.

I'm sure after some time there will be some more wheels out there, I dont mind the 18/19 combo, as stated above the caliper size means a lot of the wheels that are out there wont work well.

I have TSW 19X10.5 with stock tires. They do not stick out.

Me too, the GM splash guards catch everything thrown by the new wheel...I don't see the "sticking out" argument at all...

The ones I saw stuck out further than that, maybe they ordered or were sent the wrong wheels.

They really stuck out and they were TSWs, yours dont look bad, would still prefer for them to be in like stock since my car gets sandblasted pretty well on the rural roads around here.
