Do a search for belt tensioner, there should be several posts. I for one had my belt tensioner replaced. It sounded like a rattle under slight acceleration.

Melting Slicks
My tensoiner was leaking since the day I brought it home, its amazing how much oil that little thing seems to hold. It didnt make noise until I assume it was out of fluid, was more of a chirping noise when switching from V4 to V8 when you gave it a little throttle. It finally ran out of oil around 1200 miles and started making noise.
There is also what sounds like an exhaust leak/lifter tick when in V4 mode and you accelerate lightly around 1800 rpm and it stays in V4, goes away once it switches to V8, I think thats pretty normal when its in V4 mode. Cant find any exhaust leaks and its load related.
Its very obvious if its leaking (clear oil will be on the front spring by the mount on the RH side) and its very easy to change, here is what it looks like and where its located on the car. Its hard to tell if its leaking from looking at the top, obvious from the bottom.
