Aston Martin Driving School - Ford Proving grounds

5 different tracks including a 2.5 mile straight track

High-speed oval..... The day finishes with laps on the high-speed oval. Track is a five-mile loop with a 186-mph neutral speed in the outside lane. That means you can take your hands off the wheel, as long as you’re traveling about 186 mph, and the car will track perfectly around the steeply banked curves.

We were at sustained speeds above 150 MPH, my top speed was 174 on the back straight...after they taught us how to "sling shot" out of the corners.....

No wonder you're in the dark, considering where your head is.

12 years ago I had my '02 Z06 to 172 MPH. That was as fast as she would go as indicated on the HUD.

Live on Eastern Long Island, have a straight run North of our Interstate 495 (LIE) called the William Floyd Pkwy. There are couple of 1-plus mile stretches were there are no intersections... were you can go as fast as you want. Only thing that could get you, are Deer... car malfunction or the PO PO! My (Vett DR) worked 08 Z06 would get to 175 everyday I took it out... like it was nuttin!!!!! But unless you get your computer reprogramed GM has the new C7 Stingray car governed at max speed of 190 from manufacture!

Default 168 MPH+ on the Autobahn on winter tires

In a test car with a GM Guy on winter tires

Car was rock stable Touring mode was used and it rode better than my wifes 335 Sport and my 911 very smooth. BMWS and Audis are limited to 155MPH so they couldn't keep up

1993 Formula 160 speedometer with about 165mph a peg. Car would lay on the peg and keep pulling. Not quick at 13.98 @101 but top speed was 165 plus!

1998 Camaro SS top speed 158mph maxed. Quicker at 13.50's
@108

2002 Corvette Z06 top speed 172 mph being chased by Indiana
State Patrol. They never caught me.

2008 Z06 Supercharged 750 horsepower crank 150mph plus racing Motorcycle's.

I will see you there. I've had my C-7 Z51 up to 157. I'm taking two Skip Barber courses and the two day Ron Fellow's class.

In my C7, I've gone up to 145-ish. It didn't feel like I was going any faster than 100 at that point.

This car was designed to drive fast. You can tell immediately when you do get it up to speed.

155 in an 05 Coupe with the top off (it's a wonder I didn't blow the back glass out......)
135 in an 07 Vert with the top down at Texas Motor Speedway.
165 in a couple of 08 Coupes and a Centennial Z06, but all were still accelerating hard......time to let up when you start thinking about wildlife. A small animal could do serious damage at 165.
(another way of saying I chickened out)
So 165 is about my limit.

I've been 155-160 in a c5 that had new tires. It seemed to take a long time from 125 onward. Definitely did not feel too stable either. I've been in German cars at 130+ and felt solid as a rock at my hometown air strip. I plan on going to Las Vegas speedway to rent a car for as many laps as I can afford to experience a car like a Ferrari, mclaren or lambo at high speeds.

You won't make it much past 100mph at LVS. They use the infield road course for the exotic car program. It's a pretty tight 1.5-ish mile long course. I did it two years ago and paid ~$300 for 5 laps. You're in the car for about 15 minutes. Afterwards I thought my money would have been better spent renting the same car on the strip and just getting out of town for some nice long drives.

It looks like the C7 is very stable at speeds even without real downforce but with basically zero lift.
