OK let's end this.

Why on earth would you buy this car in automatic?

OK, let's end this, too...

1. I have a bad left knee from football many years ago, I am not physically able to push a clutch in (regardless of how easy it is) for a long period of time.

2. My wife has an ailment in her right arm that precludes her from using a manual transmission.

3. I PREFER an automatic transmission.

Good enough reasons for you?

Default According to.....

According to the figures released on the C6, something like 67% were automatics. The poll I believe is biased at this point, wait until GM puts out the real numbers. Let's wait for the REAL numbers!

People that participate on forums aren't exactly what you would call a "random sample".

Exactly!

Having said that, I wanted an automatic but ended up buying a C7 off the showroom floor and it had a manual!

We are by nature enthusiasts and the information would probably reflect that Manuals would be a higher preference than autos but when you then zoom out and include all other owners we would see Autos win.

I for one would NEVER buy a Vette in auto if given the choice, thankfully we still have a choice.

I got the manual, it is a personal choice only you can make. My brother just got a new Porsche with the dual clutch PDK tranny, must say it is really quick. My next car might be an auto, and if my C7 does not prove to be a quality car, it will also a 911.

damn, I didn't get the memo that said enthusiasts only drive cars with a manual transmission. Would you send me a copy of yours?

I prefer shifting so whether is be a C7 or a Honda Civic it will be a stick as long as my left knee holds out.

What are the dyno numbers of each on the C7? From a 2nd gear roll to top speed I'd guess the manual is faster, unless they have figured out how to put down equal power with an auto in this generation.

Personally I only drive manuals.

I'm bi. My 56 has a 4-speed Muncie, my 64 has the original 2 speed auto, and my Z06 has the original 6 speed Tremec. Then to balance it out, my supercharged Mercedes sedan has the original 5 speed auto.

So, I'm 50-50 on the subject(and I'm a performance enthusiast to boot).

I was tired of manuals have been driving them for decades. My 87C4 was a manual, my C6, and my two GT500's were...

I love the automatic for a change!!

Get stuck in traffic on the NJ Turnpike or the GSP and you'll get an automatic next time too.
