I grew up in Orange County (nobody called it OC or the OC back then), but haven't lived there since '83. Every time I visit my mom, I'm shocked at how much more and more hoity-toity it has gotten!

ATX-C7's comment was spot-on. I went to a private H.S. in Orange, and while I was visiting in Feb., I stopped in. The parking lot was full of Lambos and Maseratis. The cheapest car in the lot was a '64 Mustang in cherry condition! I thought: I went to this school way too early. Back then, I considered myself lucky to be driving a Datsun B210!

Live in South OC. Here they refer to MBZ as Newport Chevys. I've had a few MBZ and they never got a second look around here.

I have a CGM C7 which is a pretty low key color. It's my Daily Driver and it gets some looks, but nothing compared to the attention I got when I bought a PT Cruiser the first week they came out way back when.

I had people running up to look at the PT, people following me home to look at it and I even had three people offer to buy it the first month I owned it. One guy wanted to trade me his slightly used Lexus for it. I thought he was kidding around, but he was dead serious.

The people that ask about the Corvette are for the most part pretty knowledgeable about the Car. A couple of people I've run into had theirs on order. I get the most questions when I stop to buy Gas.

I probably don't notice when people are looking at the Car when I'm driving. Some passengers have told me that they noticed people looking and snapping pics. I guess I'm just clueless when I'm driving along living in my own little world.

If I were driving a C7, I really wouldn't mind the people asking to take a pic - kind of nice that they think the car looks good enough for them to want to take a picture of it.
