Honestly, who thinks black painted wheels look good
My 18 year old nephew painted the wheels on his first car black. Looks like crap, but he's a kid. If you only race your C7 at the track, and you have ripped out most of the interior and comfort bits, then maybe the minimalist black wheels might be grown men shlt. Or if your C7 is a police interceptor. Cops always have black painted wheels. Or maybe your hubcaps have fallen off, and your black painted wheels are showing.

Really? The other 20 discussions weren't enough?
It looks like a very high percentage of C7 Z51 cars are ordered with black wheels. Anecdotally around 40% is my guess. So, yes, lots of us non-kids love black wheels. The days of blingy chrome are ending.
Black wheels suit the C7 well and, IMO only, look better than any other option. A lot of adults agree. Why this bothers some people is beyond me.
How many "Does anyone actually like Chrome" threads get started? It isn't because lots of people like chrome wheels, it's because its a subjective choice and not a surprise to many that some old school traditional people like chrome. Just like it shouldn't be a surprise that some more progressive, modern folks like black wheels on sports cars

And he may be light on the 20 figure. Really, what the heck difference does it make. If you don't like them, fine. Others do, including me. One thing for sure, if you don't like them, don't buy them. Most of us like what we like and leave it at that......

Oh come on 9ball can't I lie? LOL
Black wheels rock IMO, especially on the right color like white, orange, yellow etc. Now on some colors like maroon or blue they would not look good IMO.

On the C7 I do. Were you hoping the C7 was still offered with white walls?
I've seen some ricers that look like crap with ANY color rim, but this is NOT your nephews car.

Harlan Charles said that about half of the Z51's have black wheels, which would mean that less then 25% of C7's have black wheels.
When I'm driving down the street and I see a car with black wheels(which is very seldom), guess the age of the driver and the "style" of the car he's driving.

I was specifically referring to Z51 cars... as that is the only car with a black wheel option... and suggested it was anecdotally around 40%. So, it is actually 50% of Z51 cars
It is irrelevant to list a stat for all C7s because it is only an option on some cars. What is most representative of buyers' choice is the percentage of black wheels on Z51 cars. If someone wants a base car, they can't get black wheels so its irrelevant and I cannot imagine many people would opt for Z51 solely for the black wheel option.

Only when sparkling clean....I've run 2 sets over the last 5 years, and they look great when clean, not so much when dirty....just like a black body colored car, black paint on wheels is no different when it comes to maintenance. And, it must be glossy...flat black is a no-no because of the brake dust issue.

Enjoy black wheels being "in vogue" as that will soon change. The reason being they have been popular for a while now so next generation will want something different. Us old guys do not care for them because aluminum used to be very expensive for average car guys to have...wheels, engine components, whatever. The last thing any car guy would do was cover up the natural aluminum finish. So for us black represented low glass poor guys cars. ie anyone could paint there wheels black for 50 cents.

As others have posted, chrome looks great on some colors, and black on others. It's a personal choice, and one does not make the other right or wrong.
