What did you cross-shop your C7 with?
If anything?
I'll start, I had the C7 and 981 Cayman on my radar, the 981 came out first and I was able to test drive it and loved it and ordered one and got it before the c7 hit the road. If the C7 had been around to test drive at the same time, it would have been a tough call.

Absolutely nothing.

BMW M4... but even that was not a real consideration for now.

I was actually torn between a Cayman S and a Jaguar F-Type. I was waiting before pulling the trigger to see what came of the Alfa Romeo 4C. Then I started reading reviews of the C7 and seeing that all of the things that kept me from getting a Vette in the past have been addressed in the new Stingray. Test drove and that was all she wrote. Too much car for the money to pass up this deal.

I haven't ordered my C7 yet. The only car I'm cross-shopping is my current 2005 C6 which I still love. I can say with a good degree of certainty that the C7 will win out once GM starts accepting orders for 2015 models, though.

Never looked at anything else.
My progression has been C4 > C5ZO6 > C6 > C7

I checked out the jag f type (too small inside and nothing to justify the cost difference) but what a pretty thing it is!
Viper seems less agile and a bit too much flare for routine driving. Price was high but if the hand crafted car were a better fit for more than a track day, I'd get it.
911 boring looks and again, higher price for less performance. Lacking a manual too
It was the C7 that rekindled my interest in cars for more than just point to point travel so I may have gone into it biased. But I did try to make an informed decision on what's out there

What motivates me to consider the switch to the C7 is the torque, sound and visceral pull of a v8. I've only driven one C7 but it seemed to compete pretty well on all other levels with my cayman AND offer that glorious v8 power and instant response.

Turbos rule out the m4 for me. I like BMW's in general, but turbo lag not so much. Back in the day I cross shopped a 135i and a Z4 coupe 3.0si and even though the 135i was faster, I liked the instant response of the NA engine in the coupe better.

I traded in my Z06 for it, although I wish I could have kept it, as well.
