A Quiet Admission
In the interest of innovation and quite possibly setting into production…
a. If you own a C7 would you replace the present taillights?
b. If you plan to buy a C7 would you opt for it as an option?
All responses to this solicitation are welcomed and will be appreciated in the service of determining the direction of the undertaking. Thank you
DISCLAIMER: It is not the intent of this post to invite and/or incite disparagement of the present design as it exists but rather promote an idea (taillight) hereof thought to be substantially more conducive as well as esthetically congruent to the other elements of the Stingray’s form vocabulary.

No I would not change them. And, why did you start a second thread on the exact same subject ?

The problems with the rear end aren't the lights it's the rest of the rear end. There is just way too much going on back there. The mascara vents attached to the lights, the lower vents, the black bottom half, the reflectors, and all the angles.
The lights themselves actually fit pretty well with the car. The bumper design does not.

This Stingray generation does indeed herald a fresh design and on the same note doesn’t lend itself to round, not even to the exhaust outlets, imo.
The thought behind the suggested light redesign/modification is to reduce/clean up some of the geometric complexity back there to which you reference and yet not diminish the signature of the light design but instead amplify it without interruption in the process, and, accentuate a sense of wideness to the stance; vertical lines reduce such a delineation.
The exhaust shape is another area of such contention. The C4 generation had rectangular exhaust outlets and the lights were later reshaped to better fit the design. Time serves as a fine teacher to mistakes as well as successes provided open minds prevail in the process.

Nothing wrong with the Z06 style of light, as it promotes a mean and menacing message by appearance, doubtful though it'll see the common light of day given the liability for the street, if with the tinted lens.

Starting a magazine (if that is really what you intend) with this question guarantees you just lost a ton of potential readers who love the rear end as it is and are proving it with great sales.
BTW, GM would likely sue over the use of the Stingray logo.

In being old and however memory serves, wasn't that the name of a dinosaur of long ago, or was it a boy so named?

Good luck in your endeavor which I presume is a new Corvette mag about the C7. I hope you plan on using discretionary income as start up as it is tough out there. Better come with something that makes a person spend $3-5 to read-especially when this forum exists for free.

i like that single-piece housing a lot. if it was true plug & play (read: i don't splice or rig ANYTHING), high-quality and fit just like OEM, i would certainly consider it.

I have absolutely no issues with the tail lights and personally would not change a thing other than I do like the black out look on the Z06. That said, I like most of us here have proclaimed the same thing in every other tail light related thread on this forum.
The one thing I will give you credit for is not joining the round tail light posse. Your design doesn't look too bad but I still like the the current design better.
