Where do I go from here?
I'm trying to buy my first Corvette (a C7) and none of the dealers have either the car configuration that I want nor the allocation to order one. Where do I go from here?

To one of the large forum dealers who do have allocations.

Look to your left on this page. Scroll down to "Buy A Vette". Those are the forum dealers. I bought mine from Amoni at Kerbeck in NJ after an exhaustive cross country search for the car I was after. Kerbeck had exactly the car I was after in route to them from the factory. I couldn't be happier.

You can arrange a courtesy delivery to your local (hopefully friendly) dealer. Check with them to see if they will do this. Then call a forum dealer. Many here (including me) have been very pleased with MacMulkin. Should be 5-6 weeks from order to build Plus transportation time to your dealer. Mines building next week, Check to MacMulkin 2/17, and anticipated delivery to my local dealer first week in April. It's painless. The big guys have allocation and can get an order placed immediately.

- Do National Corvette Museum delivery and then have a great road trip home
- Do a "Courtesy Delivery" at a local dealer. They typically charge $200 to $500. Car is shipped directly from plant to your local dealer.
- Arrange transport from the selling dealer to your home.

Call Kerbeck or MacMulkin they can answer your questions first hand, I was was quoted $2300 for transportation (prices vary) from New England to SoCal. They can set up tax and license as well.

Pulling a car from stock and far away and then, yes, there will be an additional delivery charge so you're paying twice essentially, but may be worth it to get the car you want immediately...

There is no additional cost over the mandatory $995 delivery charge if the order is placed as a "sold" order and routed to a courtesy delivering dealer.

While the $995 delivery charge remains the same, the local dealer doing the courtesy delivery usually charges anywhere from $200-$500 on top of the destination charge. GM pays the receiving "courtesy" dealer to perform the PDI.

If you are ordering a car, as others noted you can arrange a courtesy delivery at a local dealer. In my case, the car I found was already in route to the dealer from the factory (too late for courtesy delivery) so I arranged an enclosed transport carrier to pick it up and deliver it to my house. That was at my expense at a cost of about $1650. I used Montway for transport and was very pleased with my experience with them as well as the actual driver who delivered my car. Kerbeck made the out of state purchase easy as well. All paperwork was handled via Fed Ex and the DMV was handled by a local to me DMV processor who did all the DMV leg work.

Last time I did fly up though. I'll miss the trip this time, but timing and other stuff going on required I do it this way ...
Plus, it'll likely get to my local dealer 2 weeks sooner than to MacMulkins..
Fly and Buys are lottsa fun..

You can try to build your C-7 and then do a inventory search while changing zip codes as you get a 250 mile radius if I remember correctly.

In approximate order of sales...and they are all excellent to deal with and get you a car quickly: Kerbeck, Les Stanford, MacMulkin, Criswell, CouglinPatalaska and also try Fichtner in Laural, MT (check if he has allocation and is a closer ride). Boardwalk in CA is smaller but is showing inventory and may have some allocations. They're all good and won't want $5K-$20K over MSRP. My dealer was Dennis Tap at Les Stanford (Dearborn, MI).
Good Luck

I have known Rick Conti for years, and purchased my C6 from him. I did not purchase my C7 from him as a local dealer had exactly what I wanted in stock. He is a forum vendor. Contact him or look up "new c7 dealers" in the search field above.....
