I believe the proper response is, no that is my 2014 Corvette AND if you still looked like you did when your 1979 TA was new I would take you for a ride in my new C7

Can't say it looks like a Trans Am, but with all the plastic vents on the hood and sides it does seem like GM took a page out of the old Pontiac catalog. But I love the old Trans Am's so to me that's all good.

The C7 looks nothing like a 79 Trans Am and I can’t take much more of these old woman and their comments.

Have you ever had your car mistaken for something else? What about a car from 35 years ago?
A lot of them start losing their minds when they get older... Just have to tune them out... Press "ignore" button.

I hope you introduced her to the company vision policy and encouraged her to get her eyes checked!

And for the silly comment above "proper Corvette", um newsflash - IT IS A CORVETTE, very proper.

Time to let go of the past and welcome to 2014.

My girlfriend and I pulled up behind a 2012 camaro yesterday at a stop sign and she says," is that a corvette?"

She has seen the new C7 a few times and from the rear up close confused a camaro with the C7.

She doesn't know that much about cars so I would say she is the average observer.

So I would say to the OP it's going to happen! Lol many are sincerely confused. This from a woman with no C6 bias....

Deal with it is all you can do...

Perhaps this is an opportunity to enlighten & inform the Lady. It's all good. A target-rich environment, if you know what I mean. You know what to do...

Summer time ,2002, stopped at a stoplight with top down in my new C5
convertible. Guy in a pickup truck next to me asks; " Hey, is that the new
Mustang?" Never been a Mustang fan anyway but that one hurt a bit. Even
so, lots of folks out there that could care less about what car they drive; just
gets them from point A to point B. We Corvette guys are peculiar, to say the
least.

I think "Smokey" has been smoking something other than tobacco.
