Just found out today that I moved to 4200, Vehicle Shipped! The best part is that it is going by truck and NOT rail!

Are you sure??? If GM Customer Service says it is now traveling by truck, that doesn't mean that is how it is getting to MacMulkin - don't ask me how I know!
They go by truck from BG to the railhead and then by rail up to Michigan and then East to Selkirk, NY. Mine left BG by truck on 2/21, got to the railhead on 2/22, made it to Selkirk, NY on 3/13 and will hopefully make it to MacMulkin by truck by 3/20 for pickup by me on 3/29.
Have I said rail sucks?

That's what I was told. Apparently not all cars travel to NH by rail. Just last week we had someone who posted that his car was shipped by truck to MacMukin in less than two weeks from production.

I'll do a bit more digging next week and report back.

That may be true, and I hope for your sake it is.
My original plan (when we ordered the car) had me picking up my C7 from MacMulkin today - rail has changed that plan to 3/29; not the end of the world, but for the $1,000 GM charges for shipping, I expect better and more timely service - not for them to squeeze an additional $50 in profit by shipping by rail at my time expense of an additional 3-4 weeks for delivery.

It left BG on 2/22 and it has not yet arrived at the railhead at Selkirk, NY (revised ETA went from 3/11 to 3/15). From there it can be anywhere from 3-7 days until it gets to MacMulkin. So, it looks like mine will be in the 5 week range.
When I ordered the car on 1/15, it looked like it would be delivered to me earlier than expected (3/15), what with a TPW of 2/17 and a build date of 2/20 (it would have been there by truck by 2/27); but GM's decision to save $50 (seems like under Mary Barra the old bean counter ways are coming back at GM - so you may want to dump the stock now) and ship my car by rail to NH has added a solid month to its transit time.
Frankly, with all of the delays in shipping, I am souring a little in my purchase (which will become really sour if the car isn't at the dealer by 3/25 to allow me to pick it up on 3/29, which because of overseas work travel starting on 3/30 would mean I can't take delivery until 4/19) and it will definitely weigh against GM for future purchases.
I think i'm on the same track to NH - Purchased the car on 2/20, it had already been produced and sitting in Michigan waiting for a rail to NY. Last I heard, last week it finally started the journey to NY and then from there it will be trucked to MacMulkin in New Hampshire. Does anyone on this track know if that rail already arrived in NY and how quickly they get off the rail and trucked to New Hamphire ?

No kidding. It took less time and money to have my wife's Audi Q5 to be shipped from Germany! It just arrived yesterday - a week earlier than promised!

Congrats on it being shipped Greg!!

Not to ruin the parade, but Tommy told me his cars are railed to a NY depot. But maybe you got lucky and got the VIP treatment

From what others have posted, cust serv doesn't really have a clue on where the car is. Someone posted he called customer serv 3 diff times in a row and got three completely diff answers (not shipped, shipped, at dealer--wonder what they are even looking at).

Exciting news is that it SHIPPED

My car completed production on 2/13 and it was delivered (via rail / truck) to a dealership in Phoenix, AZ on 3/13. A very frustrating wait, but I am happy to say my first impressions and driving experience have exceeded my expectations.

Selkirk, NY is CSX's car facility that services NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT & ME, so it is a busy place as to a large extent most of the big 3 ship a majority of their vehicles by rail.
I was told by Tommy, that typical rail car arrival to offload is 3-7 days, but it has been as much as 10 days. They go from railcar to the trailer, and usually leave the facility within 48 hours of being truck loaded. It is a 3 hour truck ride from Selkirk to MacMulkin.

I guess my beef is that it is 1,100 miles from BG to MacMulkin, and you can fit 10 cars on a trailer, which means GM charges $9,950 for those cars to get there; it is $1,200 round trip in diesel fuel, 2,200 miles wear and tear on the truck(lets say $1,100) and 4 driving days ($1,400 with wages and benefits) - so a total cost to GM of $3,700, meaning a profit of $6,250 on the shipping; but that is not enough for GM, their greed requires them to use rail just to boost that $6,250 in shipping profit to $6,750!

For those of us heading to MacMulkin after having recently been built: hopefully there are enough of us that the rail cars will be full of Corvettes heading that way and won't sit around too long waiting for more ... the bright side is also that the weather will be much better a month or so from now for delivery and the road trip back home. I still can't wait to see my "baby", though.....

Thanks ATX! I would be a lot more antsy if I lived in Austin! The roads up here in NH are in sad shape.

I live in Montreal and have a TPW of March 31st to April 4th.

What could be the eta for me north of the border and would it be trucked in or rail. Thanks.

We have gotten better over the last couple of years...just don't drive mini's or fiats around here...odds are good in the spring you would disappear in one of those world famous potholes...
