Default How does the price increase protection/grandfathering work????

My order was entered into the GM system 1/31/2014. My car was produced either yesterday or today I have a vin number and my car is bayed. My salesman says that the invoice shows the price increase and was not grandfathered in?! He is checking with the general manager and then the district GM. Does the dealer have to apply for the price increase money back from GM? In the dealers defense this is the first vehicle they've received after the price increase and they admit they aren't sure how its going to be handled.

Jake I put 500.00 down on the car and have a copy of my workbench order. It shows to be a SRE-retail sold order with my contact information. Was placed 1/31/2014. But my salesman looked the order up and my invoice shows the increased sticker price. What happens now?

You are price protected at the old price. The dealer has to do some paperwork to get the difference back (so essentially he will be invoiced at the OLD price.)

Your Salesman is likely not the best source of information on this.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Car is bayed now so they have at least a few days to figure this out.

Jerry,

What color/options did you get? If you ordered constrained options, did you have to wait long for the constraints to be lifted?

Default Options

Jimbob the week I placed my order the exposed carbon roof and carbon dash were on constraint. I didn't want to wait and being as the dealer had allocation immediately I just placed the order. I ordered the carbon dash from Fichtner and will just install it myself. I considered the carbon fiber roof but for 2000.00 it wasn't worth the wait.

I read the dealer will have to enter a code to get reimbursed from GM, I'm sure all information is available to applicable dealers. The salesman might not be aware but the general/sales manager definately is.

Default You Are Price Protected

In 2010 I ordered a 2SS Camaro. GM had a price increase while I was waiting for my car to be built. As part of the price increase they added features to the car (including back up sensors).

When the car came in it was delivered at the original price without a problem, and with the added features for free! Your dealer just has to contact Chevrolet, and they will pay them back the difference.

Chevrolet/GM keeps their word when they guarantee that your ordered price is guaranteed.
