I attempted to go to work with my C7 last week with 3 inches of snow. Only got out of the driveway and that was it! Not good in the snow with original equipment tires.

If you have a Z51, this would be a nightmare on these tires.

Admittedly I didn't drive for miles on snow but what I did drive on was no problem....then again, I know what I'm doing

Apparently this guy has!
When will they take the cold weather tire warning seriously?

Why doesn't GM have an all-season tire option available for those that want to drive their cars all year ? I can see a lot of people wanting it especially those that will never track their cars.

It took a lot just to get my C7 back into the garage after my attempt to go to work in it in the 3 inches, (at most,) of snow. While going forwards and backwards to maneuver the Vette back into the garage I noticed that IT DID GO BACKWARDS. It occurred to me that the front tires were acting as wheel chocks while the rear tires were spinning and getting the snow out of the way. Summation? C7=Not good in the snow.

Even if they can be driven in the snow with proper tires, my question is why? The salt is going to ruin the underneath of the car and you're taking chances that some idiot driver is going to smash into you. I drove my C5 for 7 winters and hated every minute of it. I was so happy when I was able to get a second car to keep it out of the winter and my C6 is safely parked in the garage right now waiting for the snow to melt. It's just not fun to drive these cars in the snow, the ground clearance is much too low. Even with the right tires you can easily get stuck if you try to drive in deep snow (or you come across a spot where the snow plows have built up a "wall of snow" at an intersection)

No the rear charging plug. I got the kit when I ordered my Z51. Never even see the battery and it works great. Ty

I drove Z51 from Toronto back to Buffalo in a snow storm and did fine. Almost got stuck at a gas station though but got moving again. Not worried about salt as it's an aluminum frame just like my Audi . A good under carriage wash and back in the garage. Good to go.

C7 is a great winter car with pilot sport as3 tires. Loves the winter.
(other than the rear diff temperature issue) Z51. 2200 miles so far.
In Weather mode, the LSD locks up the rear wheels around corners
and no fishtailing. Combined with the traction control, just amazing.

With the regular tires, probably dead in 15 minutes.

I would not want to drive in the snow intentionally but I did run into a little at the end of my trip home from MacMulkin last weekend. It happens!

I think that I'm going to look into these tires you suggest. A couple of posts up speaks of having winter or all season tires as an option which is a great idea too. Once on a Christmas trip to Florida from Michigan I found that while it was fine here when I departed, things soon turned sour and I barely made it past Ohio and my outside temperature indicator became my closest friend. Who needs the stress.

There is another post that says Z51 tires were cracking in 20 degree weather . This is some tires not all, but check your tires if you are driving in these cold conditions. Just a warning for you Z51 owners . Once these cracks were noticed they were told not to drive to the dealership. The Z51 tires were not intended to be driven in the snow .

Driven mine every single day except for about 3 because I wasn't sure how it would handle 8-12" of new snow on the ground. An additional 4 days I didn't drive it while it was in the shop for non-snow related issues.

Car is absolutely incredible in the snow when equipped with winter tires. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't actually driven it.

I put pirelli sottozero winter tires on it from tirerack, but I hear they are sold out of them currently.

Because all-seasons in the summer would be a waste on this car.
