When was the car delivered? It is possible the tires were exposed to colder temps during transport and/or delivery and you are just seeing it now. Just a thought.

That's what I was trying to see as well...where is he located, when was it delivered and how long has it been sitting.

Delivered on Sep 30th when temps were still in the 70s. Location = Cincinnati. I took it out on all the days above 40 which have actually been quite a few. I think the longest it ever sat in one go was 2-3 weeks. Always parked in heated garage when sitting.

Okay, well weather was not a factor (as described). Don't know if there is an 'early' batch of tires that went bad, and this may be a set of those.

I think the challenge (as I've had in the past with tire warranties), is you have to deal directly with tire manufacturer, as that's the one thing GM doesn't warrant. Now, should GM fix it--you bet, will they...talk with your dealer. I can already hear the dealer now "well you've had the car since Sept and you're just noticing this...blah blah blah.

Let us know what they say--I'd be very curious.

OP your tires are fine. The tires pictured a bit further down are not.

Looks like a trip to the dealer is in your future. Your life is in the hands of that rubber. I know I would not take any risk and get a pro's opinion, dealer or Michelin...

This issue is not confined to Corvettes or Michelin tires.
Goodyear has had the same issue with tires used on the GT500's and ZL1's (F1 Supercars). GM actually sent out a service bulletin about this early in 2013.

Here's mine, right off the transporter that sat in -15 temps for 2 days in late Feb. Dealer in MN trying to get new rubber from GM.

Only 2 miles on the odometer when we found this...

aerohead, I would think GM or the tire manufacturer would not want the liability of those tires. IMHO they should be replaced.

Wow, so you literally just received yours like this? Hmmm. Almost every C7 has sat in sub freezing (or close temps) in BG most likely. This will be first thing I look at upon arrival.

In this case GM can't push it off to tire co, as it was obvious day one at dealership.

Thanks for heads-up Aerohead.

This is damaging to the tire.
Tires exhibiting tread cracks should be discarded.
lol its funny how you changed your previous post to me on Feb 13/14 from "Originally Posted by C7Jake

If temps drop below 20°F/−7°C, don't move a '14 Corvette

Should GM risk shipping cars in these temps?
Warning isn't noted in the C7 owner's manual.

You still haven't edited these old posts where you kept doubting the cracked tire claim and even insisting that Windsor winters are soo horrible and yours are fine so I'm bs'ing etc.

Surely of interest to most C7 owners.

I bust ***** with C7Jake but the guy who I quoted below "Cruiter" is a real phukking idiot, and no surprise - he never did reply to me with an apology or admittance of any type

How would you know that?

For defective tires, it's perfectly "normal." A play on words, but you get the point.

I had a set of Michelins that developed checks all over them. Discount Tire replaced them after I filed a claim with Michelin. Problem solved....

That's what I thought too, just checking for a second opinion.

The guy who trucked my C7 to my houes said that when its time to return it to the dealership to get the tires replaced that I should truck it back instead of driving it back - I wasn't 100% sure if that was essential or not.

I messaged the dealer yesterday to find out what's going on and if GM is covering a shipping cost, because many others in my city are facing the same thing so I'm sure I'm not the only one asking. He said he's forwarded it on and will give me an answer shortly.

Part of me kinda wants to drive it even just slow in my residential area for a few blocks - because I will probalby get that chance sooner than the replacement tires are available for me. I haven't driven it yet, actually I haven't driven any Corvette of any year or even sat inside one before this C7.
