2015 Stingray price projection for Canadians
What do you think the price increase will be?
I'm thinking the exact same optioned 2015 MSRP in Canada will be about $9,000 more than the 2014.
For example, the mid-year increase for the 2014's in the U.S. is already $3,200 for the Z51, the 2015 MY will probalby have another $2,000 increase, and we got lucky in Canada with GM for the first time underestimating the FX difference, I'm estimating a 5% increase in Canadian MSRP next year due to FX alone.
$3,200 mid-year increase + $2,000 2015 increase + $3,500 FX increase (on a $70k C7) = $8,700 increase.

$9k seems about right

A US dealer told me they only expect a $500 increase in the first batch of 2015's but they expect a $1000 increase in October. Probably them looking to book a 2015 order early but I'm just reporting what I was told. Honestly, only GM knows for sure and even then things change.

I'm glad I didn't wait!
Someone else posted about waiting a year to find cheaper used models in another thread - however when MSPR goes up $9k in 2015, the used 2014 prices at that time should be about the same as their 2014 new MSRP, i.e. virtually no depreciation in Canada for the first year.

I am also expecting a price increase of about $9,000 to $10,000. I sort of expected this outcome and that's why I pre-ordered my car before production started for the 2014 model year.

Even the options were a solid 5%-10% cheaper in 2014 versus 2013.

The 2013 C6 starting price was $7,500 higher in Canada than the 2014 C7. So it's not a stretch at all to assume that they'll return to 2013 price levels + a $1,500 difference for new model year, general inflation, etc.

They can do whatever they want....Depends on how many they want to sell....Corvettes arent a must have in this area, and if they jack up the price too high, they wont sell.
Mind you, that hasnt stopped GM from price gouging everything else they sell up here...Which is reflected in their poor sales recovery ,since 2008, versus the competition.

The gouging in past years is different - back then GM was charging too high of a FX difference.
In 2014 they ended up charging too low of a FX difference
So all I'm saying is with the U.S. MSRP increase for 2015 (+ the mid-year 2014 increase) + the weakening Canadian dollar its pretty reasonable for the Canadian price to go up $9k. If GM doesn't charge this premium they will be earning less on each Canadian C7 relative to what they earn per U.S. C7.

GM Canada would have easily sold many more C7's if they were available to order. I'm happy as hell allocation is limited. Guaranteed the price will soon rise sharply. I'll bet that come spring '15 a '14 will sell for original msrp. I just got offered a substantial amount over what I paid. Local dealer has 2 imported Z51 3LT verts in the showroom & have already sold 5 imported cars. They were allocated 1 car. Buyers are desperate to own a C7 & more than willing to pay.
