Stock wheels C7 Z51 vs '15 Mustang 5.0
#21
Wheels are so subjective... the Z51 wheels in black and in person are stunning. I like the Mustang wheels too but not as much as black Z51 wheels. What I do think the C7 absolutely NEEDS (from a looks perspective in any event) is a 19/20 combo... whatever the 19/20 combo is. 18/19 looks small, there is too much tire and doesn't suit the car well ... IMO only.

Scraping the splitter.
I really like the two-tone finish on the Mustang wheels. But I like the bigger openings between the five sets of "forks" on the Z51 wheels.

Not correct. The base wheels are cast and the Z51 wheels are forged.

The base Corvette Stingray rides on new 18 x 8.5-inch front and 19 x 10-inch rear wheels, but the Z51 rolls on 19 x 8.5-inch front and 20 x 10-inch rear forged aluminum wheels. New Michelin Pilot Super Sport run-flat tires developed specifically for the seventh-generation Corvette.

Those are two damn good looking cars right there. One of them will hopefully be mine in about a year.
The wheels are nice too. I would like to see the vette get a two tone wheel at some point. A little black to hide the brake dust and the silver face to lighten things up a bit.

GM has, in fact, said the Z51 wheels are forged and it has been documented and discussed in a multitude of places. Do some research to confirm if you would like but you are wrong on this one
Secondly, if you can examine (i.e. look) at a wheel and tell it is cast or forged, then you are amazing... however, since that is impossible to do, I will say you are not amazing and merely very good You should do some research on forged vs. cast wheels to understand the differences but the "look" of the wheel isn't one of those differences hence examining the wheels will not tell you how they were manufactured. A manufacturer could make a cast and forged wheel that would look identical in all ways... the cast wheel would be heavier and not and strong but they could look identical. So, not sure how examining the wheels will help (other than if they are specifically marked as cast or forged on the barrel or something).
One of the reasons the Z51 option is a great value is that it includes larger and FORGED wheels in addition to the other stuff it gives. Getting a set of comparable and FORGED after market wheels would be significantly more $$ than the Z51 option.

I think both wheels look good. I like the Vette wheels better though.
