Why to not buy a C7
#21
I don't care what anyone else thinks of my car or who notices me.
My neighbor asked me the status on my Corvette decision and I told her I was getting Torch Red. Her reply was, "Red, you just want to be noticed."
My reply was, "Getting noticed more because the Corvette is Red was a NEGATIVE for me, but not anywhere close to making me switch to another color, because red was the color I like most for the C7, and that is all that really matters."

Not me...I have had 6 of the 7 generations of Corvette since I was 18 years old. Everyone has been for my enjoyment ...not to impress others!
Just lost a girlfriend over the purchase of my new C7.....I will miss her...not!!

I own and drive one for one simple reason: It makes ME smile.
I'm not indifferent to the opinions of others, but it doesn't motivate my decisions. If anything, all the attention I've gotten with it thus far is a little daunting.
I'm not a "look at me" guy (so says the guy that is driving a Victory Red C7).

your vette looks fantastic, that's exactly the color scheme and yellow calipers I was planning to order when my place in line comes up. if I cant get it till fall I will have to wait till next spring I guess. due to the z51 constraints I don't think I will be getting a 2014. I cant justify getting a new car and driving it for a month and storing it. this has been a brutal winter as you know! I am on 2 lists one for the z51 stingray, one for the zo6. Im going for the z06, because I love my gs widebody and cant wait for a stingray gs if they even build one. Hopefully I will have the z by summer of 2015!

I have always bought cars because it’s what I wanted to drive. But I do find it interesting how many people want to talk about the new Corvette. Last night a nice young lady came over to my car in a store parking lot to tell me she loves my Ferrari.

Did you buy it to impress people--I hope not.
It's a fun car (I hope), but think people won't care either way.
If it were a Lambo, then yes, that would be an attn getter.
This is a mass produced car, that looks great and has a super low price (less than 2015 Suburban LTZ!).
Great bang for buck.

I'm buying a c7 because I got a brand new car exactly the way I wanted it for 65k had every intent in buying a 2010 gtr but let's face it the corvette looks 10 x better
And having a new car is something I've always wanted.

I am impressed with the car......my third Vette. I have had people said that they do not like the rear end but the rest of the car is very nice looking. If I wanted to buy a car to impress people the Bugatti Veyron would be the one that's for sure. And only if it cost the same as the C7. The C7 just may be the better looking Vette. But that would be another debate. Some people prefer the looks of the C5's and C6's.

[QUOTE=leadville1;1586329599]I hate Prius drivers, I live in Madison, WI. and every one of them is a rolling billboard for every liberal cause out there. He probably thinks your an evil capitalist who stole from the less fortunate so you can drive that car, or your polluting the world and he is highly more moral and righteous than you because he drives a Prius.

I really don't care what others think, and certainly did not buy the car to impress anyone. I'm a car guy and bought the C7 because I wanted it, researched it, and believed (correctly, as it turns out) that GM was going to produce an absolute winner. The car is a blast, and I love it. If someone gives me the thumbs up, I smile and return the thumbs up; if they look at me a flip me off (as a Prius driver recently did as he passed me on the freeway), I just smile, and realize the world has its share of idiots as well.
I own an SUV and a sedan, and each has its purpose. The Corvette is for fun. For me, my wife, and my kids.
As judge Smails so famously said, "The world needs ditch diggers too". I still laugh at that moron driving the Prius. He was probably getting all of 13 mpg flying down the freeway at 85 mph.
