Default Removing the side Stingray emblem

Is this emblem actually screwed in, or is it just glued on? i.e. if you wanted to remove it would there be an unfilled hole? If not, I was thinking of removing them and replacing with jake decals.

Not screwed on and no holes. Just heat it up a bit and peel it off. Most of us used fishing line as a "saw" to cut through the adhesive then cleaned it off after with goo gone.

Looks cleaner without 'em, IMHO but I do have 'em if I change my mind

I hear ya, Ken. But the Stingrays are so cool. All the Jake decals I see have the C6 logo's for the eyes, not the C7 crossed flags as eyes.

I agree about the Jakes (but wouldn't use 'em myself) but I guess the C7R team will come up with an update....

And yea.. the stingray's are kinda cool but I'll see how it goes with leaving 'em off (I may buckle, who knows? )

Looks like that's what I'll be doing then.

They are affixed with an adhesive, similar to a dealer's emblem.

Just pry it off with a cloth covered plastic lense remover, and balm the area with goof off, before affixing your new Jakes.

Come to think of it I won't need my flat black stingray emblems anymore which were recently shipped to me. They were online for $80, if anyone's interested I can sell them for about half of that or whatever's reasonable, if you're interested inbox me.

I would have rather had a written Stingray there as in days of old.

I'm one of the Z51 owners who do not consider Z51 to be a separate model or anything more special than the other common options. I never use "z51" in the phrase when describing my car, its either C7, corvette, stingray, etc.

Kind of on this topic... What's the best type of adhesive or tape to remount them if I wanted to paint them to match all the other trim pieces?

As was mentioned - hair dryer + fishing line (30-lb) + GooGone = a clean surface.

I just removed mine 5 minutes ago. Fishing string and a plastic interior panel removal tool. Cleaned the leftover adhesive off with some goof off and replaced them with carbon flash metallic painted emblems from RPI to match the rest of my carbon flash metallic painted emblems. I'm not a big chrome fan so these were a nice compliment to the rest of the carbon flash paint on the car.

I really like your color combo. The white and black combo looks sinister to me

Removed mine the morning after I picked up my car. I have been debating for two weeks now weather or not to order them in Carbon Flash to put back on my car. It would look just like slief's car in this thread.

CORVETTE is removed from the back of mine, again done the morning after I brought her home. I have the CORVETTE on order in carbon flash black to go back on

I think since you are removing the Stingray emblem, you should consider installing some body side moldings.

just kidding

What adhesive did you use to reaffix the new emblem? How did you make sure it was straight?
