Yo! Bro! Da view from the hood..
No I'm not talking about what the inner city thinks of the C7....
I just wanted to comment on my first time sitting in a C7 and what impressed me most.
Today I went to a nearby small Chevy dealer in NJ in hopes of actually sitting in a C7 to see if my back could handle getting in and out. No problems at all back wise getting in and out for me. The dealership had a C7 in the showroom-triple black 2LT Z51 coupe with red calipers and black wheels and a 3995 markup. The sales mgr who approached was really cool and seeing I was an older gentleman (term used loosely!) he unlocked the doors and said have some fun. We wound up talking about small dealership allocations and the lack of.
What really stuck me was the view of the hood from the driver seat. I am used to my VW CC which you can't see the hood and to see the front hood with the hood slanting down over the lights and rising up in the middle was a real visceral delight. I could imagine stepping on the gas and seeing that baby rise. To me the view of the hood from the driver's seat really adds to the overall experience.
Anyhow just curious how others feel about the view of the hood in respect to the road while driving.

This is my first vette and that view is part of my love for the car and its style.

That said, nothing like your first Corvette ownership experience. If and when you get your car, there will be lots of little things that will bring big smiles to your face. The least of which will be the view of the hood!

Seeing the 14 hood reminds me of my two 73's. The contour appears so similar. I am thinking about a Laguna Blue one, sort of matches the dark blue I had. Can't justify having it now as I don't have time to drive my other toys. Maybe I will become independently wealthy and the justification won't matter.

Being that this is not my first or second Corvette, it must be something I take for granted. In all honesty, I never even think twice about it. I guess I'm just too accustomed to it for me to be the least bit enamored about the view of the hood from inside the car.

View over the hood?
Oh, it'll do. Nothing really special....

I am still waiting for delivery of my C7 also. But I have always loved the hood hickey and the rising front fenders from the drivers point of view. I believe these features are even more exaggerated on the C7!

Exactly what I thought, The view is the same as my "73". Dips down from the fender to the rise in the center hood. The driving experience was almost the same......except.....I thought there was something wrong with the "73" because there was no power coming from the engine...

I know exactly what you are talking about. Seeing the wheel wells pop up on the sides is awesome. And when you give it some gas, you can literately see the front end lift up a little. Its awesome.

I think the view from the C7 is pretty sweet. In fact, I captured these shots from a video comparing the C7, and Aston Martin, and a Jaguar. I like the C7 best.
