Do kids like cars today?
i got my C7 about three weeks ago. my son went with me to pick it out (beginng of november)--hes 19, freshman in college. he saw it about a week and 1/2 after delivery, and drove it. he did not seem to be particularly engaged in the process quite frankly (and he knows he can take it to school if he wants, but would rather keep the audi a6 that i gave him for that). heck, if i were his age, id have to clean the bottom of my pants after the first ride! your kids the same? is mine that different from other kids these days? go ahead, i can handle it.

Your son is not really a "kid" at 19 years old. I think he just have different interest. His A6 can carry 4 of his friends to a party. A Corvette can't. Some of my friends frankly don't give a **** that I have a corvette. Some would pay me for a ride or to drive it.
I'm only 23 now and have had 2 corvettes. When I was 19 I drooled over any nice sports car.

I can't speak for driver-aged kids, but the kids at the elementary school I work drool over it.
Seriously. I've got to wash kid drool off nearly every weekend.
And don't get me started on fingerprints.

My son is 22 and can't wait until my car comes in. He has a 2011 GT500 with 700 RWHP so he is more interested in a father son race where he mops me up. We actually spent the winter working on his car installing a roll cage, new super charger, one piece drive shaft, ect. He loves cars and I couldn't be happier, it's a great hobby.

I have 4 daughters. One is an absolute motorhead just like her father. Likes to get her hands dirty and crawl under her car to work on it. She drives a WRX that she has tuned to 300+ HP. Love that girl!

My son is 15 and my daughter is 12, both are very excited for me to get the car. My son reminds me that he can dive in 6 months....ya right and my daughter says that I MUST pick her up at school in the car.

It's all how you were raised. I still remember my dad taking me out in a 87 iroc z28 stopping in the middle of the highway and launching the car when I was 10 years old
I remember the g forces pulling me into the seat. I also remember him telling me not to tell my mom
I've liked fast cars ever since then !

My 31 year old son does as he has owned a 08 vette 3LT coupe for the past six years and a 03 G35 sports coupe before that. My teenage Nephew as well and he got gift subscriptions this year for two of the car magazines from me.

My three sons in their thirties and my grandsons are all car freaks because its part of our life style....car shows, races, cruises etc. There are two Corvettes, one Viper, one STi, one '34 hot rod and one '70 Chevelle SS454 in the family. Not withstanding my own family whenever I drive my '34 rod (Rousch 342R motor, chopped, channeled, pinched, no fenders, no mufflers, quick change rear, chromed out, etc) it is only kids 12 and under and men over 55 who even take notice of it. The world is changing. Electronics, cost of ownership, congestion, pollution, law enforcement, etc etc are making cars less attractive to our youth and the enemy of climate change tax everything liberal politicians around the world. In 40 years or less most people will not own a car....when they need to go somewhere they will press an app, the driverless car will pick them up, drop them off at their destination, find a parking space and wait for the next person to dial them up. Those that do own cars then will be forced by insurance companies and by legislation to own driverless cars. What's the fun in that !

As Corvette owners it is our responsibility to pass the torch to next generations.
For my part one of the first things I did was to take a picture of my <2 year old granddaughter standing on the drivers seat looking out the window of my new '05 C6. She has a framed picture of that on her dresser along with a Kerbeck C6 poster on her wall.
This past October when she knew I was getting a new C7 her first response was a do over of that C6 picture along with a ride this time around the neighborhood waving to her friends outside. That happened before Thanksgiving. Last August I added a Kerbeck C7 poster to her collection which had been already hanging on her bedroom wall. She is also excited that my C7 is Laguna Blue, blue being her favorite color.
Now about to turn twelve, she can't wait to turn sixteen and a chance to get behind the wheel. In a deserted parking lot for sure.

One factor is the style of the car.
If it's a lowered coupe in black, white or gray, with black wheels and black windows, kids will love it.
If it's a convertible with chrome wheels, they'll look the other way... "old man's car"!!!

Both my son 32 and his wife 32 could not care less about cars. They have been is school for a very long (both PhD engineers) and now early into their careers. Have great jobs, make good money together, rent an apt., saving for a house.......but absolutely no interest in fancy cars, fast or slow.

For many of us cars & motorcycles were our first form or freedom, sadly, now I think the smartphone has taken that spot.
