A6 vs M7-which is faster?
I'm about to order a c7 and can't decide which I want. I will primarily be doing drag racing not much road racing. So my question is which is faster 0-60 and in the quarter mile, because I remember when the Camaro ZL1 came out the auto was faster than the manual. Does anyone know if the same is true with the C7.

2014 c7 A6 as well as the 2015 c7 z51 A8 will be quicker than the manual 99 percent of the time.

For drag racing the A6 gets out of the hole better than what most M7 drivers can do.
Compound that with the torque management being a little over bearing on the M7 and it is a clear choice unless you are an amazing stick driver and will tune out the torque management.

you sure? I have not heard that. That is alot of money and research to build a tranny for a car that will not sell that many units. I mean why does a zo6 care about fuel economy in the first place.

Scraping the splitter.
Here's an interesting post that compares two A6 cars to an M7 car, all three on the C7 Fast List. Notice how the M7 car does not make up any ground after the 60' and actually continues to lose ground to the A6 car(s).

Scraping the splitter.
This is the same spreadsheet, except with the incrementals from robe38's Z51 on drag radials substituted.
The A6's pull the M7 car, albeit slightly, and the M7 car does not make up any ground after the 60' marker.

A6 is going to give you the consistent time at the drag strip, if you want to track the car though, M7 all day long. I'm more of a roll race kinda guy myself (Mexico racing), and I pride myself on shifting gears well. If I wanted a auto, i would have bought a GTR and called it a day. I enjoy the challenge

technology of the "machine" is leveling the human playing field and hard to beat not only in consistency, but even once in a blue moon. The shift speed of the new A6, not even considering the upcoming lightning fast A8, is hard to beat and doesn't leave near as much on the table as in the past when manuals used to be faster off the line and down the track even using more gears as the broad power band of the DI VCT LT1 is definitely not peaky.

Nice comparison, if you've got the time can you compare Kyle's non z51 M7 run to Robs Z51 M7...I know it was different days/tracks and tires, but thought some would like to see the difference, thanks.

There will be no A8 in the base Corvette in 2015. Base Corvette covers cars with the Z51 "option". Only the Z06 "model" will have an A8.

Pretty short fast "list' and this spring will tell the tail more.
As far as beyond the first 60 ft. I think they are close right now and the edge should go to the stick. they are dynoing about 10 more.
I just se you and Snorman even putting any effort forth.
Then the Auto's are getting the best condition's so far too!
I'm taking mine to the track here soon. Before I get the Supercharger
kit put on. I don't the stick is represented too well yet!
Plus I have seen nothing about where most things are decided and it is roll downs not at the track.

Lets see some roll races where you mash the gas and shift. Taking the 60ft out of it!
The guys with quick Auto's great for you! I still require 3 pedals
Automatic's suck to drive in my book! The A6 auto still is sort of a slush box.
Least the last one I drove was.
Anyone can drive one. Sticks are showing slow as few can really drive one! And for the GM nanny's!

That's why I wanted to know if you are comparing a Z51 A6 to a non Z51 M7.
