Default I got hit

So I pull into gas station to get fuel, they were out of 93 octane, so I circle and proceed to leave the gas station, I come up on a Toyota Camry, who is almost in traffic, I give her 5 to 6 feet, I turn my head for a second as I am waiting for her to pull out, but no, she backs straight into me! On the side walk a bicycle was coming and the lady did a fast reverse to unblock the side walk, which her car blocked as she was waiting to pull out. She exists the car and blames me, when the police came she admitted she ran into me. No one was hurt but Dented bumper, quarter panel pushed into the door , and bumper and hood seem to be mis aligned,

dam I wish today was a good day!

Sorry to hear that--I hate the parking at gas stations. Love she blamed you.

Do you have any pics to share (then again, maybe I don't want to see it).

This is the kind of situation where that PDR could come in handy, heh. Since she backed into you, it would have made things messy if she claimed no fault. She could have lied and said you rear-ended her, and it may have been difficult to prove otherwise...

Good thing you were present, she probably would have left and thought nothing of it. Big problem in California with drivers who pretend nothing happened and drive off leaving the repairs and insurance costs to anyone but themselves.

There is good news. We got rear ended in our C6 at 900 miles. Fixed right, but like you, we were bummed. So it wasn't nearly as bad when 3 months later we got popped again. No one hurt and stuff is either fixable or replaceable.

I feel your pain. There are so many clueless drivers out there today. After getting hit myself a few years back by some senseless truck driver I give everyone a wide berth and lay way back all the time. Not as much fun but greater peace of mind. Here's to a speedy recovery !

That sucks.. Hope it doesn't show up on CarFax or you will be hit with diminished value..

Big time when you trade. Make sure insurance takes this into account when they give you $$ to fix. You need to get them to pay up for the depreciation you will take on the back end right now. First question when you trade "any body work or wrecks". If the answer is yes, red flag city.

And yes, if it goes into body shop, it will get into CarFax.

Glad to hear no one hurt. Yes, that wide berth thing can save a lot of heartache. Repairs will make it fine, but do take note of that diminished value thing. Not all states allow it, but more are doing so because it's real.

I bought a cheap $20 camera which attaches to the windshield just in case someone does something stupid and blames me.
