Wait, if your going to mod the crap out of the C7 Z51 you are much better off just waiting, that is what I would do. Pick up a C5 Z06 for now, it performs nearly as well as the C7.

I thought about that but once he new Z06 comes out prices are going to drop like a rock.

In the exact same dilemma as the OP. My biggest concern is how long it will take to actually get the Z once they're made....especially since my local dealer gets ZERO 'Vette allocation!

Since I am not made out of dough and mechanically minded, I bought a 2LT Z51 and a supercharger. All told under 70K. I believe you will be just under $100K for a nicely equipped Z06.

Good advice. Unless you have money to burn that is.

I'm waiting. I'll make do with my "obsolete" C6Z in the meantime.

Buy a Z51 today and trade it for a Z06 in 2 years. Think of all of the wasted time between now and then... do both and have fun
That is what I did. I was going to wait until I realized how great a car the c7z51 was. Now I can take my time getting the z...and not have to fight over 1st year availability.

Depends on how deep your pockets are! If you got the money and don't mind losing $5-7k in less than a year then go for it.

I would just say buy a 1LT to minimize your loss.

My idea from the beginning was to buy a coupe, then trade for a Vert, then the Z06. I skipped the Vert due to the fact that it just didn't make sense and I don't like the lines as much.

That's because the answer must come from within.

Personally, I'm going to wait to see what develops.

A longtime friend of mine, that also owns a C6 ZO6 is waiting too. Has zilch interest in the base C7 in any way, shape or form.....

If you have the money, buy a z51 and trade it for a z next year or when the z prices falla little bit late on (maybe) in 2015. If you don't have the money to do that, or think its nice a wise choice, wait for the z. Try and calculate the depreciation lost in a year. See if its worth it to you. I'd guess a loss of around 15%. If you are thinking of trading it in as soon as the z comes out. is it worth 8.5k to drive it a year?
