Yep the C7 is much worse then the C6. These Michelins leave a lot to be desired.
Traction control is too delayed for my tastes........ seemed quicker in the c6.
Be careful!!!!

Melting Slicks
Summer tires, cold roads, 50* weather, sport mode, inevitably dirty roads & a heavy foot is asking for a loss of traction. I'm not the least bit surprised the back end started stepping out.

Yes, but it's been sub freezing for weeks, there's all kinds of crap left on the road from the storms so yes, 50 degrees ambient in those conditions means the car will have a tendency to slip a bit compared to 50 degrees in Florida.

The Michelin's are MUCH better in warm temps. I would much rather have tires that are amazing in the conditions they were intended to be driven in if the downside is they are slippery in conditions they were not intended to be driven in. If someone wants a no-season (I mean all season) tire, that's what they should get.

I've been driving my M3 all through this cold winter (not actually in the snow though) and have had no problems with summer tires (Vredestein) and never had problems with Michelin PS2's either. I don't "punch it" though unless the weather is warmer (and don't tell me the M3 doesn't have the power to break loose). Perhaps I've just developed a bit of a sense of when it's ok to push it. Good luck and be careful.
Cheers.

Fifty degrees is all it takes to reduce the traction of summer tires by 40% or so. Well see, if the car is poking around on city streets then the tires can get cold but if the car is being driven at 60 MPH on the highway then the tires are warm enough

Multiple things going on here when comparing to a C6. More torque, much quicker throttle response, much less cold friendly tires and a more advanced traction control system that allows for more slip angle.
General UHP's and most "summer" tires are not great in the cold but the Michelin PSS tires fall off a lot faster under 40 degrees than most summer tires.
Also, driving harder isn't the same as going faster and in virtually all situations you'll find the C7 is going faster than the C6 even if it doesn't feel like it's being pushed as hard.
