No, you're both outlining the cost of distribution of power - it's your conclusion that is way off base. We'll be driving gas cars for a very long time.

It's bad enough getting beat by an electric but doing so by car that's absolutely quiet compared to the racket of an internal combustion engine is adding insult to injury.

In 10 or 20 years no one will want to drive through the neighborhood making a bunch a racket when higher performance alternatives are absolutely stealth and quiet.

Loud attention-getting exhaust noise will seem prehistoric and so yesterday.

I agree, it's just going to cost a lot more in the future than it does now. And by now, I don't mean the low gas prices we have at this moment, but what we've been paying ~$3-4 a gallon.

Until the power density of chemical
batteries improves X2, not interested
in what the golf cart can do.

Tesla is the emperor's new clothes
IM<HO.

Their stock price... wayyy overvalued.

The Tesla is a cool car, no doubt about it. Their customer service is what all dealers should look to emulate. That said, with the price of gas flirting with 2.00 a gallon, I don't see the electric or hybrid cars making a massive difference in the NE for quite some time, if ever.

it goes up and down....

I love the tesla, but can't get a car that I'm limited to 200 miles and a 30-50 min break continuously. that being said, I got a volt to get me around in gas free. if I go past the 40 mile mark on electric, the gas gets me going like any other car. I'm very happy with the purchase.

for this kind of money, I'd rather get a maserati ghibli or M5
