Anyone buy from Ross Downing in Hammond, La? if so how was your experience? Local dealers can't deliver and I am thinking about ordering through them. Private message ok if you wish. Thanks!

I've had discussions with them. I like the fact that they will not take your deposit until they have allocation for exactly what you want. They were selling at sticker also.

I wasn't aware of anyone discounting 2-3k on z51's. All dealerships I have spoken with were selling at MSRP, except for one, which was selling over, but I guess if you negotiate well you can get that deal.

There are 2-3 here that will--but YOU have to ask and be ready to buy.

That being said I purchased my GS from Tommy At McMulkin after I had moved to Houston and that was also a great experience.

I live in Houston now but had purchased 2 Vettes from Ross Downing when I lived in New Orleans. Worked with Barry there. Both sales were very straight forward and received very good deals IMHO. They even installed some after market accessories gratis. You will be fine with them.

Had 1 issue with the front splitter when it was delivered. Had some minor damage don't know how it got there but called Barry and he said no problem. Sent me a brand new splitter at no cost.
Not bad since I live in Michigan.

I've had some dealings with Ross Downing. They were kind enough to even let me test drive a C7 even though I told them I wasn't ready to buy for a few months. Great dealer IMO.

Bought my C7 from Ross, first I want to say I was pleased once the deal was done BUT I had to play hard ball with them. They did let me test drive the C7 with no issues but the problems I wasn't to found of came when negotiating the price. They were pretty cocky because they are "in the top ten corvette sales" honestly I could care less. I had to call the #11 top seller in Oklahoma to get them to budge on the msrp. Other than that I felt I was treated fairly and had a good experience.. Just come prepared do your homework and you'll be fine. Good luck!!

I got my C7 Z51 from Michael Grady at Ross Downing. Very professional and was on top of everything. I was glad to get the car at MSRP when I ordered it in Sept and the Stingray was in my garage a month later. No BS with these folks and no added extra fees and I am 250 miles from the them.

Tommy Jr. is the man at MacMulkin. I solicited bids via email from 10 CF dealers for ordering my 2011 ZR1. Ross Downing was one of about 2 or 3 dealers who never responded to my quotation request. Needless to say, Tommy Jr got my business when he went the extra mile with GM to ensure my car would be built prior to the Christmas shutdown and the expiration of my GM Card incentives.

Haven't bought a Corvette from them, but other Chevrolets. Nice country boy atmosphere and really good folks. About 45 minutes north of New Orleans on I-55 in Hammond, LA.

We did a show for them last August - Vettes & V's. I personally know Jason Walter and Darren Blanchard. Both very nice guys. Also met the owner, Dudley Downing. They seem to care about their customers and they have been very excited about the C7!

Darren Blanchard is their shop foreman. He's also been building killer motors for years, going back to the ZR-1 four cam assembled by Mercury Marine.
Worked at Sewell in New Orleans until after Katrina, when he went to Ross Downing. Great guy.
