The OP really cherry-picked a post from that thread...

Looks like the majority opinion there is generally favorable to the C7, although naturally they wouldn't feel it rises to the level of Ferrari.
Kinda like how Mustangs and Miatas get talked about 'round here, right?

I am a regular on F-Chat and I agree that most of the cars guys think that the C7 is a great car and worth considering. The fellow quoted is a poseur and obviously NOT a car guy.

This is a giant MEH!
Most F car owners have had Vettes in the past and love and respect the C7.
Jim Glickenhaus just announced he placed order for a Z07 as soon as it became public. There isn't a more respected Ferrari owner on this planet than Jim.

BIG SQUAT what an appropriate name!!
Any dame who is more attracted to a ferrari than a Vette isn't worth stopping for!!
Drove my Z into a Shell Station this afternoon and the "Oriental" owner came out and asked if I wanted to sell it. I of course said NO!! He kidded around for awhile and then showed me pictures of his custom '80 and black '74. I commented on how beautiful they are, but also said the newer models are a lot more fun to drive. He said he would never sell them. I said well then get a C7. He said his wife won't let him. So I said "WELL THEN GET A NEW WIFE "

Certainly I'm not siding with this ho mo metrosexual man so don't go there.
One thing that is true, and admitted by Chevy, is that they have to get younger buyers and those that would typically by foreign (Porsche, Audi, etc) into the Corvette line. Corvette does have a stigma--for good or bad.
This new C7 I think is really bringing in a buyer demographic that Corvette needs to sustain long term sales. I would have never thought of buying a Corvette until this new C7. Now I cannot get this car out of my mind. Think it's probably best bang for buck car out there.
Okay, back to bashing OP

Back to this Tool Bags Post, I agree anyone that buys a car based on picking up girls/guys has serious issues.

I'm 45 and have had 3 911's and 2 Audi S5's, and every time I tell my buddies about C7 they laugh. And yes, that is the target audience (and younger) they need. Not saying anything about current owners, simply about how to convert NEW buyers (demographics to C7).

the best reason to buy a Corvette, you don't have to do a major service every 5000 kms.
