c7 Z06 GM Nailed IT
I know it is not finalized yet.
But regardless of all the crying.
They did two things that HELD back allot of CUSTOMER demand for the Z06 Zr1.
Automatic Tranny with DCT like shifting.
And removable roof.
I know I will be ordering mine with the 7 speed.
But the roof has always held me back and why I built a 600 hp lingenfelter .
They want to move more cars and give CUSTOMERS more choice. Never mind if some of these will never be driven to their full potential.
The bottom line is they are some peoples dream car
and those 2 things have held back some from purchasing.

Isn't that the ZO7 body kit on that and the "regular" ZO6 won't look like that?

Oh and don't forget to mention theres a convertible version coming as well! Im all in on this one...The PAIN of watching C7 owners enjoying their cars this summer will be terrible! Sold my C6 to get the C7 this summer...Well that damn Z06 threw a wrench in the whole plan! Oh well...I'll keep the $$$ in my pockets for now and use it to buy some more medical marijuana stocks that may just pay for the car outright in the next year or so!

OP, you are right on the money with your comments. Many of us passed on the C6 Z06 simply because of the transmission. A very large segment of the Corvette enthusiast population have been asking for these changes for years. A second year C7 Z06 will be in my garage for sure.
I knew it was only a matter of time before the dinosaurs would relent and offer the car with an automatic. Pretty much all the super cars have autos and the argument that most put forward saying autos can't handle the torque were just ridiculous.

Looks like a really cool car and I am interested, but not so sure they nailed it. One of the cool things about the outgoing model is that it was so stealthy. No one knew what it was unless he or she really was a car person. The new one, with all of the spoilers and air dams and such, draws much attention. Also, it remains to be seen as to the durability of the sc at the track (heat sink?). I have no doubt it will sell well.
