They’re doing a poor job of filling existing orders on 2014s! Don

Way to answer the question....jeez.

If they follow the past, you will be able to order a 2015 in late April or May, they will shut down Bowling Green in June to make any line changes and then start producing 2015's in July.

I anticipate seeing order guides and the ability to submit orders in May. We still have slots available for 2014 orders for those who want to beat what I expect to be a major price increase.

How can they have a "major price increase" for what will essentially be the same car after only a year of production? I just don't understand the logic.

Frustrated with approaching 8 weeks since I gave the dealer a deposit and the order has gone nowhere. Dealer sales manager insists they have plenty of allocations and it’s a base coupe 2LT, nothing exotic. Don

They normally go up about 1200 to 1500 per year because of added equipment and cost increases.

If you are still at 1100 status code after 8 weeks, then the dealer does NOT have plenty of allocations or you have a LOT of people ahead of you. I was at 1100 status code for 4 months but I understood the dealer only had 3 convertible allocation (mine was the first), my dealer got an allocation this past Thursday, my order will go in next week.

I agree. When has that ever occurred......and what is major? I guess it makes the buyers of 14 feel better at the current time

That may be on the high end.....but regardless, that is much less than taking a one year depreciation loss on taking a 14 so late in the game. Also, that is far from a substantial increase.

Now this is funny….There are cars sitting on the lots all over the place. This is like a chicken little the sky is falling response.

Wait for the 2015's order availability and then see all these dealers taking 5-8 grand off 2014's and scoop one up at that time.

When he said "major" I was thinking in terms of a $4-5k increase which would be absolutely insane for one year to the next, but I wouldn't see a $1500 increase as a big surprise.

I agree. I also believe the deeper 2015 discounts will more than offset the increase. I already have negotiated a 4K discount from MSRP on a 2015 Z51 package car.....and I am thinking I may need to lean on him to do better when we get closer to actually ordering the car. I don't think a $4k discount will be good enough by May.

Base coupes, yes. Some of us want Z51s though (and not the Premier edition colors) which are not really sitting around.

Yeah, I agree about $1500, but what would concern me is a $1500 base MSRP hike + a substantial hike in the Z51 package cost, which could happen and equal a sizeable increase. Since the Z51 has been on some kind of constraint forever the logic is sound that they could increase the price.

ETA: I'm sticking with my 2014 order for now, I hear it should likely go past 1100 next week. Knowing that I wouldn't buy the data recorder option and have no need for the integrated LTE, unless something else major that I would use is introduced for 2015 I don't feel like I'd be missing anything.

I am negotiating an at dealer cost letting the dealer keep the hold back money., for a 2015. We all know the economy will tank by June leaving unemployment at about 6% and the DOW at about 17,200. No one will be buying Corvettes or any other car. I see the layoffs coming in Bowling Green when the production falls to 40,000 units a year.

Dreamland Chevy gets another '15 Z51 pre-order (in writing)

Falls to 40k units? Have you looked at the historical production numbers? I'm guessing no.

cause the dealers are trying to scare people into buying 2014s the 2015 will have a lot of nice add ons and the dealers don't want to be stuck with the 2014 their will be an increase but not enough to for people to run out an buy 2014 that's what happens when you buy first year model you miss out on all the goodies that are coming I expect a lot of people will try and dump their 2014 for the zo6 or the upgraded versions thus a price drop and dealers selling at mrsp will have to lower there prices
