Default Bit of Color Under the Hood

Decided to paint the plenum / intake cover yesterday. Nothing too fancy but I like the color addition. Pretty easy DIY job.

Just a rattle can of Rustoleum paint intended for plastic. I've used it before on plastic engine components - it is very durable and easy to work with. Thanks!

The injector covers do just pop off - pull them on the inboard side and two rubber grommets release and the covers are removed. The plenum cover is held by 4 bolts removed with 10 mm deep socket. Prior to pulling that you also need to release the injector wiring harness on each side (which is a bit of a challenge but doable) and unplug one connector on the driver's side. Paint and reverse to install.

I do like color under the hood. Again another area where some say its a waste of money. I have never had cars as a good investment, although that would be a great thing. Its just a fun thing for me as it is for many.
I also have more color parts ordered.

mksZ51: would recommend a coat of heat-capable Torch Red for better color matching. That shade of red is just off enough to look wrong. Readily available from at least one or two forum vendors.

I appreciate the feedback - I'm must not that picky under the hood. Neat, tidy, and clean with a splash of color is good enough for me.
