HUD worth it or not?

HUD worth it or not?
I'm looking to order a 1 LT with Z 51, mag suspension and performance exhaust. The only thing that interests me on the 2 LT upgrade is the HUD. In your opinion, is it a true performance driving benefit worth the $ 4 K package price or just a "nice to have"?

I have mine off because I rarely use it, the reason why I went with the 2LT was the seats, Center Point, color choices and Enhanced Anti-Theft, HUD is just a bonus.

Have it in our C5Z, had it on my C6 and will have it on my C7. I almost feel naked when I drive our Dodge 4x4 which doesn't have a HUD!

I went with 1LT and really like it. It is suprisingly nice, you wouldn't guess it from how many people have 2LT or 3LT. I had a 2LZ Z06 and a c6 3LT coupe and the 1LT is nicer, you just have fewer options like heads up. I personally wont miss heads up, its nice to have, but the new infotainment is so nice I'd rather look at that. For 4k I'd rather have other things.
My dad has a 3ZR Zr1 and both our interiors are black, I'd bet if someone sat in mine and didnt realize it wasnt real leather on the dash theyd think the c7s was nicer. JMO.
I went the exact way you are thinking. Cant beat it for 60k IMO.

I see you are not considering NAV but the best part of the HUD is having driving directions projected onto it so you don't ever have to look down at the map.
Adjustable lumbar/bolsters and heated/cooled seats are worth the balance of the $4K upgrade IMO but I am really picky about being comfortable/well fitted in the car.

I love mine-it's cool that you don't have to look into the dash for important items.

Worth the total cost of the 2LT in my opinion. I've never had a HUD before and debated on getting the 2LT with the HUD. I am so glad I did. If you like to drive it a little hard you for sure will need the HUD.

Isn't there a forum vendor that's doing installs of the HUD for the 1LT?
I will definitely say from my '01 and my father's XLR, having the HUD is such a nice feature that I miss it on our vehicles that don't have it. If the cost of having it installed after the fact is far enough away from the 2LT upgrade cost, you can consider that route.

I had a 1999, 2001, 2004, Vettes with HUD. I also had a Cadillac XLR with HUD. My 2007 has HUD. I would not buy a Corvette without it.

If you never had it, you won't miss it, but there is place that install them just like the factory.
Keep looking on the forum for installers.
I can tell you when I drive the wife's car always looking for speed in the windshield.
