A perfect C7 with no junk fees! I would rather have the $500 instead of a box of cookies.

I picked up my Corvette on a Friday. My wife was out of town so I signed half the papers and drove the Corvette home. On Monday we returned to the dealer and my wife finished signing the papers. However that Monday the dealership was holding an open house with finger food, sandwiches and beverages. After a couple of sandwiches and cans of coke we left with 2 new GM ball caps, free. My wife got a pink cap and I got a camo cap.

Just a BP gas card from my dealer. As for GM, my free SiriusXM account showed an expiration of 12/23/2013 even though I have a 2LT that includes one year. Then when the car was a couple months old the expiration date somehow updated to 9/23/2014.

This is where salespeople fail. They think short term and not long term. Send a hand written note and some nice little something ($50)--it would go a long way. That's the difference between those building relationships and just selling something.

Maybe it's just me but it would seem kinda silly to send money back after just taking your money. Were they admitting they overcharged? Why not just fill in -$50 on the paperwork?

I meant whatever the gift is maybe no more than $50. It's the thought. Trust me a hand written card even--most salespeople (even on this forum) could learn a thing or two about after sales thank you notes/gifts.

I'm not talking about a can of cookies from the dealer because your name was put into a CRM system to automatically send you a can. I mean a REAL thank you. Just saying.

Point is someone spends $60K+ send them at least a THANK YOU card hand written--it will go a mile trust me.

They sold me the car for exactly what was agreed upon. There was a doc fee, but the same amount was taken off the sale price. Then, the cookies and card showed up in the mail. The exact same thing happened in 2012 when they sold me a 427 Convertible for over 9K off sticker.

Just because you think all dealers are dicks doesn't make it so.

And yes, my dealer was Fichtner Chevrolet.

no gift after the sale, but a nice note from Coughlin....at delivery I was given a few ballcaps and some posters...told rick to give them to someone who would appreciate them...I did not ask for something else...that's chicken sh**.. I got good service ordering and at delivery. All I really ask for. Will do it again in a few years....
