Jags do look good, BUT they are a piece of crap when it comes to maintenance. Friend of mine had one, and was constantly in the shop--you have to own two cars if you get a Jag (or Land Rover for that matter). Good looking cars, terrible to own.

Uhm, the article did give the WIN to the Corvette. Their only complaint about its looks were with the rear of the car, calling it Transformer looking. Admittedly, the rear of the Corvette is either a love it or hate it proposition, there's no in between. I love my Vette, but will admit, if you look at just the front and just the rear, you feel like you're looking at two different cars. From the side, it's as good as I personally could ask for. Personally though, I think they could have toned down the rear just a little and been a little more aggressive with the lower front bumper area. And as I've mentioned before, whoever designed the front grille, should be fired.

Color me different but I don't see the Jag looking so great. I didn't spend a lot of time analyzing it but from the side, it's rather boring. The Corvette is much more bold and daring. The Jag reminds me of a big Miata from the few photos I looked at.

"C7 will look dated long before the Jag ever does."
Jag already looks dated
Jag already looks dated

When you stand next to the Jag V8 as I did you will ask yourself "Is that all I get for $100,000 ?" Only a European brand ellitiest would pick the Jag especially when Z06 arrives at same or better price.

Melting Slicks
There was the usual lack of attention to detail in the comparison. Article said that the Jag was more responsive at low end. Well, duh, no surprise there, the A8 in the Jag has very high numerical gearing compared to very low numerical gearing on the C7 manual and also has torque converter advantages. Would guess that the comment wouldn’t have been made the Vette been configured with the A6. Don

I think Maserati designs are better but the new Jags do look good.

Great review IMO. They were up front about their preferences, wrote a thorough review, gave good impressions on the feel of both cars when just cruising and also when pushing hard, and eventually, grugingly gave the win to the Vette. If the C7 is able to coax praise from even die hard euro car fans, then it seems GM has done a great job. I don't understand the bellyaching in these comments.
