GT seats for Competition Seats swap?
Are the seats swappable? Does anyone know? Has anyone done this yet?
I finally got a chance to sit in them at Rick Hendrick's Duluth, GA because they have a non-Z51 (Yellow with jet black) with them in there. Dan gave me the keys to check them out while I was in there getting my C7 it's first service. I fit pretty well.
For those interested...I am 6'0" 215lbs.
If anyone is willing to swap let me know. We can work out a trade offer. I am in Atlanta / Gwinnett Co. I have a Jet Black 3LT with sueded inserts. I need to have the same for a swap.

I bet they can be bought later... that's what I may do. I didn't get the competition seats (I was on the fence) and now think I may regret it. No big deal, we can always buy a set.

Cool beans. That may lead to many GT seats up for sale once C7 owners start swapping for the Comps. Hopefully they'll fit C6's without too much effort. So, anyone have the standards, in black? Cheap?

I don't think GM would put real racing seats in their street cars. The "competition" seats was a good solution for the many complaints about the C6 seats not being supportive enough for the non-Xlarge folks as well as for track events.

From what I can see in the pictures the seat bottom looks like it is the same as the GT seat while the seat back has more side bolstering to keep the upper body in place during hard cornering. If you want to install a harness bar and 5 or 6 point belts the seat back harness pass throughs may not be useful if there isn't a sub belt pass through in the seat bottom and mounting location under the seat.

They fit snug and you should try before buying, but for me they are fine for long drives. I am not small (6'1" & 275lbs), and neither is my wife. In the two-and-a-half weeks we have had the car we have logged a total of 2,800 miles in the Comp. seats. That includes three 750 mile 11 hour days coming home from the NCM, 210 miles on Christmas day to visit family, a 210 mile round trip to San Diego, and a 230 mile canyon run on New Years day. My wife also thinks the seats are good.
I really noticed the extra support in the canyons.
I has a bit apprehensive ahead of picking up the car because I ordered them without having a chance to sit in one first. I did see and measure a display set so I knew they were the same width as the GT seats. I am very happy I went with the Comp. seats.

I / will drive it to work, around town and to a car show here in there. I have two other cars to drive so it is a when ever I want to car. The seats reminded me of M3 seats but what do I know. Haven't been in those seats in a long time.

My impressions were that "I want them now!!!" Nah there are some real seat owners on here that can let us know what they are really like around curves and driving to and from work...that kind of experience. Those that have taken them on long drives too.
