Default Determining dealer allocation

On 11/11/2013, I put a $1000 deposit on 2014 Stingray with the following equipment: 2LT,5ZU(Spoiler),C2Q(painted/transparent tops),MYC(AutoTransmission),QX3(chrome STD wheel). At that the time I was told that there were no constraints.

The order status is still 1100 (after 7 weeks) and although the dealership says they have allocation, I'm beginning to wonder.

Is there anyway to determine if the dealership actually has allocation? Does the recent allocation to all dealerships help my situation?

Thanks

I would pm Chevrolet customer service contact here for some help. They are a great resource.

Thanks...I tried a couple of times and got very fast replies, but the replies haven't been entirely straight forward. The content is something like "your order is waiting on a allocation or constraint." I'd like to understand which but haven't been able to definitely get that.

if you walk into a dealer , do a buyers order and get a GM workbench order sheet and the code is 1100, you should have another sheet in 5-10 days that says Chev has accepted it and at 2000..

anything else and the dealer does not have allocation....

I agree, if your order is for a non Z51 model and without carbon fiber dash [FAY], and or, competition seats. The acceptance rules change if any of the items on your order are on the constraint list as my Z51 and FAY options are. I have confirmed that my smaller dealer has a vert allocation, but my order is still caught up in the constraint list.
I am hoping for Chev order acceptance by late January, or, will go with plan B.

Chevrolet Customer Service on this Forum will likely not help you with your questions beyond telling you that you need to talk to your dealer about their allocations (my personal experience anyway - even if you PM them).

IMO, if the dealer is not being straight up with you about their allocations and ability to provide the car you have on order, I would question the wisdom of dealing with them anyway. The forum dealers are performing; they have allocations and will get your car built in a reasonable timeframe from what I have seen here. You will have to work out the details of how to take possession of the car, but this Forum is full of information on delivery options.

My bet is the dealer has no allocation yet. My order sat at 1100 for a long time. When the dealer got their allocation (called me to tell me they got it), I went to 2000 and then to 3000 in a couple of days.

Dealership probably does have allocation - just not yet.
There is nothing in the OP's order that has been on constraint for the last 4 weeks, so the order should have been accepted and likely been at 3400 by now.

Get a refund of your deposit & go with one of the major dealers listed on this forum. Otherwise, you will still be waiting at Order Status Code 1100 when the 2015 models come out.

Is your dealer a Stingray dealer? Not every Chevy dealer is one. Have they gotten any C7's this year? If they haven't they are not a C7 dealer.

Interesting, my order was placed the same day and I also am at 1100 (convertible, manual, 2LT, navigation). I'm hoping for a March delivery so as long as the procedure starts in a week or two, no problem. Dealer expects movement in January, I'm sure they know allocation date. I think they just sold my traded C6 coupe.

My dealer told me back when I put my deposit down in early November that I would be the first car ordered on their second allocation which is Jan. 15th. I didn't want the car until spring anyway, so I'm hoping to get it mid to late March in time for spring.

Thanks for your post. I was told by one of the large Corvette dealerships that the most likely holdup on my order is the two top option, so maybe you won't have a problem. If I don't get any movement in the next three weeks, I may drop the transparent top and order through parts later.

Good luck with yours,
Mike

I'm thinking we are all in the second allocation cycle. Evidently start date is the middle of January. My dealer told me they have three allocations, two coupes and one convertible. I have the convertible slot. My dealer wasn't in on the first allocation cycle so that has to put them in the second.

Placed order with a local Wisc dealer on 11/07, GM accepted order on
11/19, with 3 constraint items, Z51, painted roof, and competition seats, car built 12/10 and delivered to dealer 12/27,would have been delivered 12/23 but we had a lot of snow and ice then. It all depends on your dealer and his allocations.

It's the dual tops.

Perhaps the day you talked to your dealer, there were no restraints, or maybe they just lied to you. However, it is well known that given the quality control problems on the Carbon Fiber roofs, both painted and exposed, no dual top orders have been accepted in a long time. Since the plant has a hard time getting enough good tops to even put one on each coupe, it makes no sense to accept dual roof orders. At least, that's what the folks at the factory said during our delivery tour.

Just my $0.02.

No constraint items on my order, base convertible, manual, 2LT, navigation. Dealer's allocation has to be holdup. Dealer stated order should be picked up in January, they know allocation date just not telling. I don't understand why so secretive? Maybe it is the white sidewall tires? Not! Fun speculating anyway.

Easy - go to the dealer and ask to see proof of their allocation. If they can't show you proof, time to walk. Trust me - they know how many cars they are getting. Of course. constraints can influence how soon they can get exactly what you ordered.
