Default DO you pay for the Museum delivery experience on top of

Hey all you lucky C7 owners,

Well I know I'm hooked, it's just a matter of time until the Stingray reels ME in.

My dealer here in Tucson is out of allotments so I was considering the museum delivery route or maybe a courtesy delivery but that's an additional $500 from what I gather.

My simple question is:

I know there is a $995 destination charge on all the cars. If I pick the C7 up at Bowling Green, do I have to pay for the museum experience ON TOP of the $995 destination charge or does the destination charge cover the museum delivery?

It may be a stupid question but I'm looking at places I can either have the car delivered or just pick it up at Bowling Green and begin my journey home from there.

I'm sure there's a simple answer for this, I just can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks,
AZ

The car is still transported from the factory to the museum. A lot more to the Museum Delivery than just getting the car.

I was among the first few people that got museum delivery in 1996, I liked it so much I got museum delivery in 1998, and a few weeks ago I ordered my C7 with museum delivery

So there is a $995 delivery charge for bringing it to where it is made?

so for $995, they drive it across the street. (1/2 mile between factory and museum)

They're made at the factory, not the museum. It's really no different than paying the destination charge for cars delivered to the Bowling Green Chevrolet dealer. The cars are trucked to the museum just like they are to any dealership.

No, it is transported just like it is to other dealers (as mpuzach said).

Do the museum delivery. It's such a unique thing to be able to do, and hey make it worthwhile. A big benefit is you get your car prepped by the book, and if they find anything work it can be sent back to the factory for a fix.

That sounds great but what happens if they need to keep it overnight? Who's paying for that hotel bill? Or do they put you to work ON THE LINE to keep you busy so time flies????????????

I would like to do the experience but that seems like a lot of money.....and from what I read, I can't see why it costs THAT MUCH.

I see I would need to even rent a car on my own if I flew in to pick mine up. Gee, you would think there would be some sort of courtesy pick up. Just my .02

If you don't like the price...stay home and take delivery at your local dealer.
Transportations costs are the same nationwide....Federal statute. No dealer gets a car cheaper than another. Plenty on this topic in the search function.

Well excuse me for stating my opinion...........I thought this was my thread to inquire about the experience and if it was a cost above the delivery charge.

I wasn't question transportation costs.........I realize it's factored in on all the invoices. And thank you for directing me to the search function...........gee...my 9 years as a member you would think I would have found it by now...............

I'll request a mod lock my thread so it doesn't irriate you liek it seems it has..............that should make you happy. I have the info I needed now............thanks to those that contributed positively to it..............

We did the NCM delivery in March 2006. All I can say it was worth every dime and our time.
