Default Exhaust

Would adding headers and exhaust void the warranty on a new vette?

it won't if they don't affect other parts that are GM, alter the engine operation that causes problems or the install does not change anything else.

If the exhaust doesn't void the warranty, the custom engine tune required by the headers certainly might.

Swap it all back to stock ( including the tune ) and nobody should be the wiser!

I'm going to leave mine stock I think though. The last 3 had longtubes with no cats.

I got the npp exhaust so I'm hoping it will be loud enough for my tastes

The NPP definitely takes care of loud throaty sound you seek. I read somewhere that if modify the stock tune and then switch it back for warranty reasons, GM knows it was changed. I maybe wrong on this, but as long as it is under warranty, I would not do anything to void the warranty.

Bingo, we have a winner! I’d bet that GM can tell if the ECM has been reflashed, removing it prior to a dealer visit won’t fool them. So, if you’ve had a tune and anything internal engine related is damaged, you just bought it. Don

I certainly can’t answer that question, way beyond my knowledge of car electronics. Good luck finding the answer, maybe some guru here knows. Don
