Default Communication Failure

I keep hinting around about trading the C6 for a C7 but my wife has been very negative on the idea. I've been bringing up the subject every couple weeks since the reveal.

A couple weeks ago I posted in another thread...
Your lucky. I've been trying to get my wife to think about a C7. Normally when I start talking about a new car she's always been on board and ready to shop within a few weeks. Not so with the C7. It's been months now and every time I bring it up she says... "I don't like the C7. The rear end is just ugly."

I'm fighting an up hill battle. Maybe I just have to give it more time.
So, yesterday I asked her to come into my office to view the video about the C7 going 200mph on the grand parkway here in Houston. Afterward I didn't want to miss the opportunity to tweak her again so I said... "You sure you don't want to consider a C7?" Again she said, "I just hate the rear end". There was a long pause as I gave her a look that indicated I was expecting her response. Then she said, "Well, the back window, it's just wrong. I don't like the way it slopes or they way it integrates with the car." I'm like... Wait!! What?? I can't believe what I'm hearing. All this time I thought she'd been talking about the tail lights or the way the lower portion is black and doesn't match the body color or that she didn't like the vents. So, I said, "Did you know that the C7 convertible has a top like the C6 and the way the top is on the C7 it looks very similar if not exactly like a C6?" Her response was, "Really?" So now I have to get her to lay eyes on a C7 vert, preferably a silver one. She's wanted a silver car for a long time.
So, there is hope.

I'd just go buy the car and then beg for forgiveness

It's good news that your wife is coming around!! Now that she gave you an opening, like I said, go buy the vert and then beg for her not to kick you out

You are breaking her down. Keep up the low level pressure. We will see you in a C7 by spring.

Is this your wife's car? I don't understand why she has to like it?

That's very nice of you to care so much about her opinion.

Fwiw my wife has always hated my corvettes.....I would say in all the years (over a decade) she rides in each one maybe once.

Too low, too noises, too rough, too hard to get in and out of....and the list goes on...

As you can see......I don't care....if she doesn't care to drive in a corvette as I bought her a beautiful Cadillac to drive that we use every week as we go out on our date night...

Your a good guy and I think it's nice you want your spouse to like what you like...

A lot of people don't care for the c7 greenhouse. I happen to like it but for those that don't?

The c7 convertible has a much more c6 comparable greenhouse design.

Peter DeLorenzo from the auto extremist and autoline after hours fame is adamant that the c7 convertible is stunning and he dislikes the coupes greenhouse.

Have fun shopping!

Guess I'm a lucky guy as my wife is probably more excited about and impatient for our C7 to arrive.

Then again, she does drive her own ZO6

My wife is pretty excited too... we haven't had a stick shift to drive in a couple of years (other than my track car which she didn't drive) so she's excited to have a manual around again.

Grow a pair of *****. Get a career where you make enough money and don't need her permission, or get a divorce!

Women have a lot of power over us. In my case she talked me out of getting a 2010 gtr in favor of a new c7

You should just ask her what color you think you should get. By implying that your ( already getting one ) it reinforces her willingness not to bitch

I'm a lucky guy. My wife gives me enough of an allowance to buy a new vette every few years.
