fog lights?????
having owned a 2005 C6 and a 2008 C6, I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my new C7. I have searched the chevrolet website, and cannot find any reference to fog lights in the new C7? I can't seem to find them in any of the pictures. am I missing something, or is this a tremendous vendor opportunity?

Seems like with the advent of the daytime running lamps with LED lighting, very few cars have fog lights anymore. That was the trend of the 1990's that's come and gone. With today's headlamps, fog lights are pretty much useless.

They were useless to start with. Most did not have a flat top cut off as do true functional fog lights.

While properly designed fog lamps might be useful in some areas. Most frequently they’re misused. Misaligned and used when there is no fog or even in the daylight. I won’t miss not having them. Don

Personally with the HID lighting out today, it does render the fog lamps pretty well useless, but I will say because of the closer to yellow light of them they are nice in the rain and well fog. They project better onto wet road surfaces than HIDs. Now with that being said, with true LED headlamps (Not just DRL's) I barely use fog lights because it is a whiter light with less blue in it.

sorry to disagree. while most "fog lights" on today's cars are just an additional light bulb for posers, a true fog light is very useful. a true fog light has a beam that is wider than the low beams. it is very helpful to light the sides of dark roads at night and does not blind oncoming drivers. true, it doesn't make much of a difference in urban and suburban areas with street lights and lots of traffic. but on rural, dark roads they do work well. sorry to see that it's not available on the C7. sounds like a great opportunity for a vendor to create a kit that would mount a set of PIAA's or Hella's. any takers?

most of the cars I had with fog lights were useless. Fog lights need to br mounted low and close to the ground and since the Vette is already low the normal lights should work well

Even with fog lights that do work the massive problem is as you mention “posers” who think it’s cool to run with fog lights on in clear weather, even clear daytime weather along with high beams scorching your retinas. Such bubbas are immune to logic and education. Don

I can do without front fog lamps but it would be great if the Stingray had rear fogs like many European cars have. For those not familiar, most German cars as well as Volvos and Jaguars have a red light in the rear, typically just on the driver's side, that can be switched on in inclement weather for added visibility from behind. It illuminates with the intensity of the brake lights but stays on as long as the switch is on. I had them on my previous Volvos and Audis and think they're great. Here's one on an Audi A6:

I replaced the halogen driving lights in my C6 with PROPER HIDs and it made a night-and-day-difference. I rarely ran without 'em at night (I kinda live out in the boonies) because they made such a difference in lighting the road
