C7 NPP Exhaust
#3
I'd say it's worth it. Just because it's pretty hard to find an option as well integrated with the rest of the car's system as this factory installed option. I love the fact that I can control it from the center screen.

I love the integration but if you're looking for a really aggressive sound I'd wait for aftermarket. There's a noticeable difference with the valves open…but it's still pretty mild. Just my opinion though, other really like it.

Would the valves from the NPP exhaust still work with after market exhaust? Or would the new exhaust make them obsolete? sorry for the stupid questions, this will be my first corvette..

I agree. It is also better than the Corsa Sport I had on my C6.

Just this afternoon I came upon a C6 on the highway. He saw me coming and rolled his window down (presumably to hear the trumpets). So I gave her full throttle just as I passed then slowed down later and got a thumbs up and ear to ear grin as he passed me . I have the NPP and Z51 with an A6.
The integration really works well.

Definitely worth it. It was next on my option list after the Z51 option. I had it on my C6 Grand Sport. I wouldn't have a Corvette without it. You can really hear it when you are running in the Sport Mode or Track Mode. And it sounds really good when you have the Rev Matching on and downshifting at a light!!

Thinking of doing some kooks headers with the none NPP exhaust instead. That should get me the more aggressive sound plus a little more power for about the same price...

If you don't plan to mod and/or want to keep your warranty, get it.
NPP isn't for added power. It's for sound.

There are two sets of valves on the C7 Corvette. One set come on all Vettes, they operate on the exhaust pipes prior to the muffler and are used to choke down on the pipes when in 4 cylinder mode. Assume any aftermarket muffler would want to retain these. The valves for the NPP are in the Mufflers at the outlet of one of the two exhaust pipes. You can look into two of the pipes and see them operate. In the C7 these are electrically operated, not vacuum operated like the C6. Had NPP on the C6 and the C7 is integrated much better. Since I use Sport mode most of the time, they are open most of the time and sound great. When I would like less sound I switch to Touring. Can be set in the mode desired for most of the drive modes, so louder on Touring etc is possible. No need for my dash mounted activation switch I built in the cup holder in the C6.
