Fancy that! Z51 is actually an OPTION on any one of the various trim levels of the base model Corvette.

Z51 is a performance handling pkg. (an option) just as it was on the C4, C5, C6, and C7 models. It is not a model of Corvette. It seems many think that it is.

What I really wanted but couldn't get is, magnetic ride control. I had it on my C4 (FX3), C6 (F55), I was one of the first, to embrace it's capability. With the stiffer frame on the C7 maybe don't need it? Well I will have my C7 for the Caravan to the Museum this summer, If the suspension doesn't totally meet my needs I'll trade for a 2016.
I have had my TR 2LT Z51 Vert with A8, MRC and Nav for 5 weeks now and have 1400 miles on it. When I ordered the car the dealer accidently left off the MRC. When the error was discovered it was too late to change order and dealer now has car on showroom floor. I told the dealer the car was unacceptable w/o MRC. I was ready to walk away from a $2500 deposit, even when he offered that car at dealer cost. As I told the dealer, the car would not be complete without the MRC. With support and assistance from Sales Manager, and a senior GM manager, I was able to get car re-ordered with the MRC. I ended up missing "Museum Delivery" and waiting an additional month to get the car, but it was definitely worth it. I will never track the car, but I wanted the car to be all that it was meant to be. I put 30,000 miles on my 2012, and wanted the versatility of a softer ride for touring, and a performance suspension for "spirited" driving and to spend that much money on a car and not get everything I wanted would have been a huge disappointment.

Exactly!! When it is all said and done 99% of the owners are driving these at speed limits and ALL that matters is the color you choose. I have an A6 Cyber Gray because Cyber Gray is the best color (IMHO). A8 vs A6 was meaningless to me. I cannot tell the difference from the outside and that is all that matters. Everybody's 2015 looks just like mine except they were not able to get the best color...

I'm leaning towards the non Z51 because of the color and it's less bucks.
Don't get a Z-51 unless, of course, you want one.

Default Z51- no brainier

i recently purchased my first Corvette and after reading absolutely everything I could find on the car and all of the available options, it was clear to go with the top end performance package. I don't intend on tracking the vehicle and am not one to keep the accelerator in the firewall, but it is soooo nice to know it is all there waiting for when I want it or need it.

Each to his own, and that is why these are all options. The final decision is yours........

If spending less bucks on your C7 is an important factor, you're leaning in the right direction.

I have a different view on resale value.

If you can get a non Z51 at a bargain price ... like I did. Got mine at invoice... I drove mine for a year and sold it for $2000 less on a trade in. I found that to be a great value. I also know some that have a Z51 paid MSRP and having issues getting their money on a trade in. Others may have different experiences. My view is that you loose a little on each option you buy. I had a great time driving my base C7.

There are hundreds of threads here on Z51 and non Z51. I know many in my area that have Z51s and non of them race them. I guess its bragging rights....

With that all said I ordered a ZO6 and it left Bowling Green yesterday to my dealership. I dont race... I was ready for some bragging rights I guess.
