Newbie to forum, Hello.

My dealer is saying he only places orders on Friday.

Is this normal?
Am I losing a week?

The dealer can enter your order any time. It will sit in the system until an allocation comes up for that dealer. Allocations are given to dealers on Thursday morning (I think 9:00 AM Eastern Time). The guy you talked to may wait until Friday to place orders but that may cause them to miss out on constrained options.

I would look for someone like one of the CF supporting dealers who knows how to work the GM system.

You're fine. GM gives the dealer his allocation on Thursday and the dealer has till Saturday to fill his orders. He can then edit the orders on Tuesday. After that you are in!

Courtesy is a pretty good Vette dealer. I believe they used to be a sponsor here on the forum and I've had many of my customers have their cars drop shipped there.

Wow, the dealer was very eager to put the order in right away when I mentioned the details provided above.

One thing that was curious was he asked me about the top color for the convertible we are ordering and this caught us off guard as the Chevy website didn't have that as a configuration option.

Any ideas on how to view the different tops on the different colors?

The top color choice are listed in the "Compare trims side by side", but not on the build it previewer.

I think the choices are Black, Blue, Kalahari (Tan), and Gray.

What Color car are you considering? The top colors are black, Grey, Blue, and Kalahari as stated in above post.

I think that's normal for them and not abnormal for dealers in general.

I went down there to check out their Premier Edition floor model and to ask about ordering. I was treated well. Nice folks for sure. When they told me they wanted $10k over MSRP for non-Z51 and $25k over for a Z51...I quickly left. They also told me I would likely wait a year for a custom ordered Z51 coupe. No thank you...next. That was about a month ago, so maybe things have changed there since then.
