Default GM - Texas Stingray Owner has a Request!

It was a pleasure working with Brian, you could just hear his passion for Corvette over the phone….very glad we had a chance to meet, congratulations sir ….he also gave me a message to give GM, or more of a request if you will.

Dr. Brian has been in his wheel chair for 30 years and has incredible spirit…LOVES HIS CORVETTE….after fighting the high winds the day he flew here to drive her back to Texas, he got his hand controls for brake and gas all set and he was ready to roll…

Here is the text I got when he got home;

“Rick , awesome car! She’s home.
.
.
.
1161 miles, 3 gas stops, 2 drive thru’s , 1 hotel and 0 speeding tickets!
25.5 hours ( 7.5 in hotel)

AWESOME DRIVE!

Just wanted to let you know everything went fine, Got home Sunday afternoon took Cyndi for a spin before crashing on the couch. Thanks for everything, a very enjoyable experience; see you when the new HiPO Auto C7 is released!!!

Brian!”

AND THAT IS HIS REQUEST TO GM……
.
.
.
Build a High OutPut C7 Stingray in an AUTOMATIC

and he will be our first repeat Stingray buyer!

COME ON GM, YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Johnny Football,.....

Yup .......... I gotta agree. It is way over due. It would be a much easier sell to the other half if it had an automatic.

Kickass car.

Specs on that wheelchair?? That thing looks pretty gnarly with those thick, but few, red spokes. I'm into anything tech.

Thanks!...Pointed out your ZR1 to my friend driving his new Viper as we were headed to dinner... Told him that's the color I'm getting on my HiPo C7... He agreed that CG is awesome .... BTW, my wife was the one driving the Vette, I was stuck in the truck...

Actually a Johnny Football fan... Followed him in high school at Tivy in Kerrville... Graduated from there 30+ years ago .... Been a fan of his since, even if he is an Aggie

Love the San Antonio area and get back as often as possible...Grew up on a ranch between Bandera and Kerrville... Life sure was simpler then

see aboveMy last manual was a new '10 ZO6. Yes even at my age I find that power shifting from 1/2 and 2/3 was a natural move that the salesman made appreciating comments about.... but...in August '11 I purchased a beautiful (if not visually old fashioned exterior matched with an incredible up-to-date interior) 911 997tt. The "auto" Tipt S with SPORTS CHRNO was a joy to drive and virtually all auto makers are stating that their auto can shift quicker than their manual cars even in the most professional of hands. I, like most of you looked down on auto cars as not being quite right and just not sporty enough. Add to that the overwhelming prod of the manual giving you a faster car and the deal was not a hard one. Enter today...One of the things that make the tt Porsche cars so terribly quick off the line (and come on guys its all about stop light power and speed..as least for me it is) is their "forget the shift auto" coupled to that acceleration enhancing devil four wheel drive and you have a 150k annihilation package. That is as long as your going in a straight line. But that's not the subject. The subject is 'funability and for me, another old Texan, with cars that's to be found in a rock crushing short shifting 4-speed! I don't recall the systems number for that trany in my '67 427 but that was living on the edge one stop light at a time.
However having written all that if GM should bless us with the option on a C7 ZO7 or whatever it's going to be called I for one find that a better solution than going to an after market answer...rrm

Thanks

That's some close parking to the wall on the Vette -- I'm afraid I'd hear some sickening noises if I tried that. Beautiful car.

Thanks...If I don't park that close I hear sickening noises of my wife and nieces opening their doors into the side of my ride... I actually park deeper in the garage and a couple of inches closer to the wall than the pics (there were boxes and a couple coolers in garage that have since been removed).... Wifey knows to park with the front wheel of her SUV on or to the right of the point of the star. Her doors won't reach my car that way

AW is the best color, but I guess y'all know that!!!...

Awesome road trip for sure... Glad I decided to pick it up rather than courtesy delivery.... Got to meet Rick and have a good talk and then got an opportunity to log a lot of miles while figuring out how everything worked...

Took a wrong turn in Kentucky and ended up on the Western Kentucky Turnpike... Didn't know where I was going but I was making good time... Looking forward to the next trip as well
