Would love to hear opinion of p-car owners who have purchased the c7. Did a short test drive of c7 and was not impressed. To be honest it was like 5 minutes, so I don't think it was near enough seat time. Will have to drive again for more then 5 minutes. Test drove the r8 v10. Amazing car but big $$. They let you drive it more then 5 mins. Go figure.

There are discussions on this already... do a search and you will find lots. I think you are the first person to not be impressed once they have driven a C7.

5 mins isn't enough at all... plus you really have to drive it spiritedly and around some good bends to get the feel & balance of the C7 and at least a good drive on open roads also will help a bit more.

I can't really contribute much yet to this thread but hope to soon. My c7 , z51,mrc,mt,npp, AW, red interior is at 3400 and hope to get her by Xmas. That being said today will drive my GT3 911 around town . Weather still ok for Seattle. 46 degrees and stormy. Tracking season over here for now. Wife is going to send me to bondurant or fellows C7 driving school for Xmas/Bday present. She sent me to porsche school in Alabama 2 years ago. She's a keeper. She drives a manual Boxster. Gt3 too rough and clutch too heavy for her. Sold my C4S PDK 911 to make room for the C7. This will be my new DD.

Did you test drive a Z51 C7? If you are experienced with Porsches, then, IMO, the Z51 may appeal to your particular tastes more. What Porsche do/did you own?

For me I did not test drive one. Ordered mine early sept based on early buzz, reviews. They are still super scarce here in PNW. Bought my used 911s also without test driving them. They were either CPO or passed a PPI from my Indy shop(GT3). Not disappointed. Manual 05 Boxster is my wife's. She won't drive the GT3. Clutch too heavy and ride too rough. Her loss IMO.

I have had my SL55 since spring after sold off my 2008 z06 mostly because was sick of driving manual cars where live now. They were no big deal back in Saskatchewan where used to live. Here we have lots of hills, heavy traffic and people that like to park one inch off your bumper at the lights.

I am interested in still getting a c7 but none here to test drive or even look although heard the local dealer got think they say 4 for 2013 or maybe they meant 2014.
The local dealership basically laughed at me when said was interested in a c7. Guess they didn't realize could get one from across the border or from another dealership if really wanted one now. Have to say their attitude was really lousy. But right now demand is greater than supply. GM has a real hit on their hands with the new c7.

Also was more interested in getting a z06 or zr1 not really into a base car. And of course lkely be another six months or more till can get one of those.

Saw a nice 2007 911 turbo for sale with only 12,000 miles on the clock so got that but its not home yet waiting on shipping company to get it to me. Be another week or so.
So can't really comment on how like the car yet.
I will say that my SL55 is a true supercar. It has great ride, good handling for a big heavy pig when you press the handling button, decent power again considering its weight which is like 4300 pounds. It has very high interior quality and exterior quality but am bit worried about costs to repair and maintain it. I got no warranty on that one ,car has 30,000 miles and currently has an issue which hopefully is minor and will look at in spring ,car is in storage now.

The 911 turbo has another couple years of warranty on it .

I never got to test drive my 2008 z06. Fact never even had a ride in any c6 or got to drive one . Just bought it on faith and it was a great car and if was auto would have kept it a few more years. I wish it would have had the magnetic ride option ,they put that on the lower models which kind of pissed me off. The z06 never got it till the final years.
Roads where live now are much better than were was living so not as critical now but like a car that can ride good or handle good with pushes of the buttons.

I also never drove my SL55 it was basically bought online and shipped to me. And have only ever driven an old 1980s 911 non turbo so sure the new one is going to be a big step up.

Its shame that can't look at c7 at dealership or test drive one. Likely won't be able to do that till next spring but am maybe going to Vegas this February so should for sure be able to see a c7 or test drive maybe even rent one there. I think by end of next year the c7 base cars will be pretty common sight out there. After all they are not that expensive compared to all the high end exotics that are all over my city. Fact rather than buying one high end exotic I decided to buy like two or three used high end cars and have more variety in the toy box. So likely get a used c7 or used z06 or zr1 to get even more bang for the buck.

All cars depreciate and do it on a bigger scale first few years. My SL55 was like 170 k new got it for 50k.

The c7 will drop likely 10k or more just driving it off the lot. I saved like 40k over price of new z06 and it was only like three years old with like 8000 miles on the clock.

Buying new costs big bucks. And you get killed even more if you live in a place like me with 15% tax if the car is over 55k in value.

Sorry about the rambling. Basic points here was that pretty impressed with my SL55 and sure will be pretty impressed with my 911 turbo. And really 5 minutes is not enough to really get to know and likely appreciate a car like the new c7. The new c7 seems to be truly world class now ,interior, seats, etc and great bang for the buck and will be more bang for the buck as they hit the used market.

The 911 turbo sounds sweet. A little variety is all the better if you can afford it. I am talking about cars now. Good luck. If you go to Vegas check out spring mountain track. Ron fellows driving school. . Worth a side trip I would think. Google or bing it.

For the price of a equipped R8 you can buy a his and hers C7 coupe and convertible and still have change left over for a winter beater. 2 brand new winter beaters if you add any option on the R8. I think you are the first person who was not impressed by driving a C7? What are you driving now? What are you comparing it to? Which Porsche?

Perhaps, a sports car might not be to your liking. Every single professional review on the car has been extremely positive. There is a strong possibility that the problem is somewhere other than the car. Have you test driven a Camry?

The 991 Turbo S is awesome, but as you suggest its expensive. I saw one on the showroom floor of my local Porsche dealer, and the car stickered for a tad under $200K. Now if I only had a job that paid about $400K a year, I'd be interested,

As to the question asked by the OP, I'd guess that any 911 owner who loves sports car will be impressed by the C7. It's a super car at a modest price.

Five minutes is sufficient time to know if you like this car or not.The major selling points of this car are the design, torque (felt very early in the RPM range) and the steering feel...if that didn't impress,move on to another car....hope I saved you some time and good luck.

I own two 911's, an '87 3.2 Carrera and an '05 Carrera S. I just ordered a 2014 Stingray, 2LT with Z-51, so I hope I like it. From all the reviews I've read, and I've read dozens, I expect to love it. I am exactly the customer new GM is hoping to woo with this C7. BTW, I have never driven a Corvette of any kind, nor been a passenger in one, so I really hope I've made a good choice!
